    Marion,

Thanks for responding. The lady I spoke with did not go into whether or not the info had the required coding, only mentioned that the info was there and had yet to be processed.

As most people right now, we just don’t have another 500.00 to lay out for the deductible. My husband has gone from working 50 hours a week , down to 32, due to lack of work . We are just going to wait for all the paperwork to be processed, and see who gets what.

I just want to say welcome, so very glad you have found this place. I am so very sorry that your Dad is suffering from such infections as well. I do hope they are able to locate the cause of the latest one.

Not sure where your located, but, it does indeed sound like that he is not getting the best care available. Many people just accept the care that is offered , without question. It takes extra strength to stand up for ones self and say hey, this is just not right. Please do seek second and third opinions.

That Cdiff is one tough beast to be rid of, my Mother in Law is fighting that, she lives alone in her own home, and refused to be hospitalized.

Best Wishes to you and your Parents. Jill

Thanks for the prayers, and please continue. She found out about her cancer the day I was discharged from the hospital from my whipple surgery. Despite multiple Dr apts, her GP, continued to diagnose it as bronchitis. Since diagnosis, they have traveled to Colorado Springs, weekly for the chemo.
They had built a beautiful cabin in the mountains near Cripple Creek, however, at this point, she can’t breathe well in the higher altitude, so they drive on home, which is near Ulysses, Kansas.

I have made up my mind to drive up one weekend to spend some time with her and make my Uncle Gary, take a little break.

The oncologist here told me a Pet scan does NOT always see all, therefore, he follows up with CT scans. I just had one on Friday, and will not get results until Monday the 27th.

I am always cold too and I have not had any chemo! I have one of those tie blankets, that a niece made for me, that is always on me while I sit on the couch. Maybe its the Anemia causing the cold, I just blame the lack of fat on the old body, due to the weight loss?

    Hugs to you both!

I still have the itching on my hands and feet mostly. Usually relieved by benedryl or the Waldryl, available at Walgreens for half price the name brand stuff. I never leave home without it, as this itching is so intense, the longer it goes , the bigger the bruise I leave in attempting to relieve it. No one can tell me why these pop up , as all my levels are back to normal.

I was told you can not make over 700.00 per month, in order to qualify for SSDI. Also, the disability insurance, both long and short term, has to run out or be canceled, or its double dipping , so to say, and the insurance company can sue to get the money returned.

Also, there is a five month waiting period for SSDI, I don’t believe your allowed any income during this time frame, and yes, the short and long term insurance counts as income.

Please read the links that was posted, and also you do need to talk with the insurance company as well. I will be hoping for the best of outcomes for you all. Hopefully , with the disability , the employer will continue to pay for the health insurance….

In the letter, the two insurance industry groups said their members are willing to “phase out the practice of varying premiums based on health status in the individual market” if all Americans are required to get coverage. Although the letter left open some loopholes, it was still seen as a major development.

Sounds like they want to force everyone to purchase health insurance, just like your auto insurance. Need a Dr. and don’t have insurance, get a what, ticket??? So many people can not afford food, how do the expect them to purchase insurance for their health? This is not a good time to try and force this issue.

Hey Chance, Thanks for that information. May become even more important, as my husbands employer is rumored to be talking of closing the plant he works at. 25 years on their insurance and I have never needed it more than we do right now.

I realize this is an old thread, but, or is that Butt, this seems to be a common issue. Wondering if all that posted here had the whipple? Lainy , I know your man did! LOL

This is such an embarrassing issue. I have started taking some digestive enzymes from GNC, but, it does not seem to be helping me. I have days that I do not dare leave my house, its so bad. I have also had some , “dumping” along with it as well. Carbonated soda, will make it worse, but, has not caused it. My diet consists of Meat, vegetable and a salad. Most meats are oven baked or broiled.

First thing in the morning or late in the evenings are the absolutely worst.

Just wondering if anyone here , continues to have the issue. It has been five months since my surgery!

I want to say thank you to everyone. Please know that I am praying for each of you , those that are themselves stricken and those that are caring for loved ones. How I wish there was no need for forums like this, however, it is a great benefit to those who are seeking information!

Thanks Lainy! I will be praying that you guys have great results as well.

I feel kinda guilty for great results, when there are 3 people in my life fighting lung cancer. Two are not getting good results from their chemos, and one is just starting his fight. Gosh, what I would do for them to beat this crap!

Just wanted to update with my Pet scan results.
All looks good. No cancer cells showing up.
Blood work shows I am a quart or two low, so more testing to see where that is going to.

Thanks RS, I do appreciate your taking time to reply.

I go back tuesday for the results of the blood work and PET scan. We shall see what , if anything is showing up.

As far as Chemo and Radiation, the oncologist seemed to agree with me, that no study has shown that this is going to prevent the cancer from returning. From everything I have read, its almost guaranteed that within two years, your going to have some sort of reoccurance, where its another tumor or another type of cancer. You are very lucky, as you have not had this?

    Jill
