SpectatorToday’s the day!! FINALLY!!! I hope I get to post results in the good news section!
kris00j
SpectatorI’ve been sitting around waiting for the onc appt. on Monday after the CT scan last week. (not really)… this morning her office called and they want me to have a PET scan before I meet with her on Monday. So now I go in tomorrow for a PET scan. My first. I’m trying to stay positive but this is the first time they’ve wanted more “clarity” from a PET scan so I’m scared.
Gee, things must be happening that weren’t scheduled. I’ve been looking for a part time job. Now I have dr. appts. tomorrow, Monday, Friday, next Monday and next Tues. Then cataract surgery on Dec. 6th. How on earth do you get a part time job in these circumstances??
I’m just praying my onc is being cautious. I wish they would give me more than a “she wants some clarification”… I know the radiation worked to kill at least part of the cells and that’s what they are saying: it’s hard to see the activity in the CT scan….. but it’s still nerve wracking.
Just giving an update. A little venting too……kris00j
SpectatorHAHAHA!!!!!!

SpectatorI can get all of my labs dating to the first blood work. And I can see specifics if I click on them. For example, if I click on the CA 19-9, I get all the results from April 2011 until now. Unfortunately, I can’t get the scan results online or I would cheat and look them up.

SpectatorI got my blood work results. I may not have any control over hearing the results of the CT scan, but she can’t keep me from going online to see the blood work. My CA 19-9 is down to 75!! I know that’s still high, but the lowest it’s ever been is 84 and most of this fight it’s been over 100-800. So I’ll take that as good news and run with it!
My bilirubinis 1.0 but I’m not going to worry too much because we radiated the liver and my liver tends to react with a high bilirubin and no symptoms.
11 days to go until I get the results……tick, tick, tick.kris00j

It’s the Energizer bunny!!! And that’s hysterical ’cause that’s what I call myself!! I keep going and going and going….
Thanks for the wishes everyone It sounds like the weather will hold off until I get hone. I would have made it to my scan last week, but unfortunately power outages DO stop Kris! Or at least it stops the medical center from keeping appointments…..kris00j
SpectatorThe storm is supposed to stay on the shore, but we are getting snow (yes, that swear word) and I hope it isn’t much. I’m not sure how strong the standing trees, etc. are are present….
kris00j
SpectatorTomorrow is scan day part 2….. taking train into NYC for scan and hoping the latest storm doesn’t cause too much havoc….
kris00j
SpectatorThanks Lauren. Maybe I will contact her and see her views on “co” oncing me!

SpectatorI don’t have an onc at Fox Chase and I wouldn’t want to go to U of Penn… after this, I might try to get in to see the onc at Fox Chase and see if they will get trained in the pump. That way I don’t have to go all the way to NYC or Princeton every time.
I should have checked into it when I was going thru radiation there.kris00j
SpectatorAs of right now it’s strange that I can go more than 8 weeks between pump refills… so if she can’t change it to Tues. I have a CT Scan in NYC on Wed. and my pump refilled. Then I get to wait until the 19th to find out the results!! I think that’s cruel and unusual punishment!!!!! I hate when they make me wait and I said that I would like to get in earlier if possible.
I’m just hoping NJ Transit is back up and running on Wed. so I can take the train instead of having to drive the whole way into NYC. Not my favorite ride. Plus there is not much in the way of gas to be found there…
And I’m friggin’ tired of obstacles. I just wish something would go smoothly for a while…. I shouldn’t complain because for the most part I’m healthy. But this is the 2nd or 3rd time everything has been rescheduled and such. It’s frustrating. (Not counting cancelled surgeries)kris00j
SpectatorI’m hoping my Princeton onc can fit me in tomorrow or Monday and they can do it… then I’ll worry about the scan. It would just stink to have gone thru all this and have the pump no longer work because it ran dry.

I figure you haven’t watched the news???? The lower half of Manhattan is still out of power: Train service is non-existent, and part of NJ, NY, etc are not expecting power for days or longer.
Dr. K. is very possessive of her pump. I do have a backup Onc in Princeton, NJ but unfortunately, they don’t have power either. They DO have power in another office, but I need to know if I can get in there Mon. and if they are trained in the pump.
Meanwhile, I am waiting to hear back from Dr. K’s office. If they can get me a CT scan in one of the NYC offices, then it’s worth the trip. But I can’t need gas up there: 2 hour waits and they keep running out at the gas stations. There is no power, gas, ice, etc….. it’s a mess.kris00j
SpectatorNot quite sure what to do. I thought I knew the problems Sandy left behind, but nope. The Basking Ridge office just called: they have no power and aren’t expecting it for weeks…
I’m hoping they can find me a CT scan for Monday in NYC. Since I have to drive all the way there and there are no trains… this is a nightmare. I NEED to have the pump serviced: we’ve never gone this long before so I’m very nervous about it.
I called my Princeton onc and they have no power either……kris00j
SpectatorWeathered the storm just fine. So much so that I had to dress as Sandy from Grease!! HAHA
And Pam: It would have been worse if I hadn’t complaned. I would have gone yesterday or today and waited until Monday. I told them that was cruel and unusual punishment and I would never wait that long for results again! -
