Dear cvertz & Paul (revhed), welcome to this wonderful family, ‘though – like the others – I’m so sad you have had to find us. I send my very best wishes to both of you & to both your families.

Surf2kona – my sister has just finished her 8 cycles of Gem/Cis & has her post-chemo scan tomorrow. Your comment about your brother’s tumour reduction has comforted me greatly – thank you. I hope your brother continues to do well.

Welcome, xepalomero. I hope you’re getting more information from the oncologists now. How did the second opinion go? Any more news?

My very best wishes to you & your grandmother.

Welcome, Tom!! I’m so sorry to hear about your sister. I’m sorry I have no information about the treatment you mention but I definitely endorse the others’ advice about seeking further opinions.

My very best wishes to you & your sister.

I’m so, so sorry, Scraggles. Thank you for telling us of your mum’s enjoyment of the sunshine & how she passed at her own time, in her own way & with her rosary by her side. She sounds a remarkable woman.

You & she are in my thoughts.

Great news, Jeff. Thanks for the update.

My sister has her post-chemo scan on May 6th, too – I’ll be thinking of Marc on that day, too.

    Very best wishes

I do sympathise with the waiting, waiting, waiting, Jemima. My sister was diagnosed at Kings College Hospital & I felt (& still do, sometimes) exactly the same as you’ve described. I can’t really add to the others’ comments – I do so agree with them all – so I’ll just offer you a very big welcome to this wonderful site.

I googled cc when my sister was 1st diagnosed. I’ve never done it since!! The information here is so much more rounded, practical & non-sensationalist.

My best wishes to you & your mum.

Welcome, Angela. I’m in the UK, too, & my sister has just finished her chemo for cc (although, as she’s staying with me for the time being, I don’t have the additional issue of distance that you’re having to cope with).

I’m so glad your sister has a good support network & I hope you are managing to get information from your sister’s medical team, despite the distance.

My best wishes to you both.

Dear Friend – welcome to this wonderful site. Don’t forget that you will need support, too, as you support your friend & this is a BRILLIANT site for carer support, as well a patient support.

Good Luck to your friend & to you as you go through this together.
