Thank you for the advice Marion and Kris. I think the doctors are leaning toward 6 months of chemo and radiiation since my dad is otherwise healthy and in shape. Best of luck to all.

Good luck with your surgery. My dad just had surgery on Tues. Had his bile duct removed, his gallbladder and they reconstructed using part of his intestines. Slight fever the first few days (which is normal after surgery) But today something clicked and he had no fever and was walking, with help. They removed all of the cancer so think positive that you will have a similar experience. Good luck!

Thank you Nancy. We are meeting with a surgeon tomorrow from Columbia University/NY Presbyterian Hospital. I hope we get good news. I will keep Dr. Journigan on my list if we do wind up at Sloan. I’m glad your friend is doing well. Thank you for the kind wishes and prayers.

Sorry to hear about your mom. My dad’s only symptom was the indigestion and the high liver enzymes. Other wise he feels fine too. Such a strange thing. Well, I guess you can at least be thankful that they found it and it sounds like it is small and operable. Best of luck. Keep us posted.

Thank you for your replies. This is very helpful. I would like to try Sloan Kettering for my dad. His gastroenterologist suggested a doctor at Columbia Presbyterian who also works out of Holy Name Hospital in NJ. My dad is a homebody and doesn’t want the surgery in the city, but i think he just needs time to digest everything. We just want the best for him.

Hi, i’m new to the message board. My dad was just diagnosed with a possible cholangiocarcinoma. (small blockage in the bile duct leading to his liver and a small lesion in his liver.) I’m researching liver surgeons and i’m wondering which one you used at Sloan Kettering. I would appreciate some advice.
