Walk…..Your Dad seems to be doing extremely well. What wonderful news. He may very well continue to do so. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the scan will prove for the tumor to be shrinking.
Hugs and Happy New Year to you and your family,

The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation has bracelets specifically designed for our cancer. The newer version should be available real soon however, I do have some left for those who do not want to wait although, I believe for the new ones to be nicer.
I wear mine, always. It connects me to all, touched by this cancer, and it gives me hope that one day this disease will be eliminated. Then this board will become one of joy, only. In the meantime, it brings about awareness of a cancer to which very little resources are dedicated. I believe for this bracelet to be one more step in achieving our goal of early detection, recognized treatment protocols, and research money allocated due to collaboration of medical institutions, physicians and world-wide research.
    Hugs to all,
    Marion

Hello gk…..sorry to be hearing about your Dad. There have been many discussions on this board in re: to fluid retention which can have many causes as you might hear from others or, you might want to use the Search function to read up on the many threads explaining this issue. The diuretics and plenty of water should show some positive results. When was the last time your Dad had a scan and lab tests? I am hoping that the diuretics has shown itself to solve the problems and you are enjoying a Happy New Year.
Sending tons of good wishes your way,
    Marion

hopeandgrace…..As our Jeff had mentioned the tissue around the tumors can be inflamed thereby causing the swelling possibly, of the omentum and peritoneum. It has been reported before although; I can’t remember who the poster was. Hoping for you to find the answer soon and for your Mom to otherwise be comfortable.
Sending tons of good wishes your way,

hopeandgrace….I would live follow our Jeff by welcoming you to our site. I would just like to add that you might want to read up on ascities (fluid retention) as Jeff had mentioned. You will find many threads discussing this particular subject. Simply, enter the word in to the search function. In many instances it can be drained, and this is something you might want to discuss with the physician.
Hugs to you and your family,
    Marion

Dave….sorry for the late reply and I am so sorry to hear of the multiple tumors. Was your wife vomiting before chemotherapy? Also, can she tolerate liquids better than solid food? When will be her next scan? Sleep disturbances have been reported by many undergoing chemotherapy so you might want to discuss this with the physician and hopefully, others will be able to send some advise your way, also. Please, stay in touch. You have tons of support coming your way.
My best wishes to your wife and you of course,
    Marion

Dear Jan….so sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing. Seems as if he picked his time, and having everyone around him for Christmas Eve must have given him the comfort he needed to join those Cholanciocarcinoma friends who have gone before him. So glad for him not to have suffered.
My heart is with you and your family in this so very special time,
    Marion
