Mn, I love that your Mom told your dad not to be cheap! Both my patents obituaries were about that price but for one long obituary print and then a second day abbreviated version ( Name, age, town, burial arrangements) We wrote the long one. I agree it would be better for it to appear in the weekend paper. And I definitely agree that obituaries are ridiculously expensive. Thoughts and prayers will be with you on Monday and Tuesday.

Pam, good thing Lauren will have her blood drawn closer to home before you head off again. I am sorry that you all had that disappointment. I’m sure everything will get back on track soon. Pam

I am so sorry for Petra’s passing. You made everyone of her last days memorable and for that, you’ve earned a jewel in your crown. Petra is now watching over you all. Take comfort in knowing she will be with all of you always.

Thank you all for the kind words. I was so touched to learn that my son went to the VA cemetery to pay respects to my dad, his grandpa, today. I will pay my respects tomorrow here in GA. We are all thinking of him. Again, thank you all.

Thanks Lainy! Before my dad got sick, my husband rejoined the USAF and transferred to GA. He was up here almost a year before I could join him. Our son is attending college on the MS gulf coast. We are going to visit him for his 21st birthday. We plan to whoop it up in New Orleans for a few days. Changes are hard and I really appreciate your response. Don’t think my mom would be too happy that I went back to work. Haha…I retired as a teacher after 25 years. She’d want me to stay home.

Erin, thank you for posting your dad’s story. I am sorry your family has to go through this experience. My dad’s resection was aborted for the same reason. Many more lesions than he surgeon expected, too. My dad lost his battle with cc almost a year ago today. He was much older (75) and had other health issues. He was only able to tolerate a few rounds of chemo. Your dad is very strong, fit, and very young. I hope he will soon receive some good results from his chemo. His attitude is excellent. I know it is such a worry for you! Take care of each other and make those memories.

Hi Pam, I know you will receive so many posts today because you are an exceptional mom! I will be thinking of you and Lauren as you travel for her scan. I would look at this scan as a progress check. I believe there will be shrinkage! Lauren is young and able to fight this cancer! She has tolerated the chemo so bring on some more! I really believe after some more rounds and another scan three months down the road you will be looking at an inactive tumor. Lauren has great support in you all! Blessings to you.
