    Hi,
Irinotecan is not an easy medication to take;tough on the patient compare to other regimen;hospitalization is more often than not ;side effects of diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, dehydration etc are between 45-80% for each of them.
Regardless of what other chemotherapy agents used with irinotecan, adverse events of abdominal pain is about 57-67%;anemia(60-96%) just to name a few. therefore hospitalization due to side effects of irinotecan is not uncommon.
    God bless.

    Hi,
But if I understand your statement correctly, all of the doctors you mentioned, including your oncologist, agree on one thing. NO MORE OXALIPLATIN. Right?
    God bless.

    Hi,
Carafate suspension works like a coating agent; you can also try Pepcid AC( over the counter) 20mg( 2 solutabs) or Prevacid 20mg solutab under the tongue when she starts to have the pain from acid reflux . Protonix will not work as good as Pepcid AC .
    God bless.

    Hi,

I agree with you without phase I, there will be no phase II. AND EVERYBODY should have phase I study if they can and willing to do so. The key word is “choice”for my statement. And most of the time,as a patient, what you will have is largely depending on your location too, that is,where you get your treatment .
    God bless.

    Hi,
Then the next thing you should do would be medical and radiation oncology.
In this case, I will talk to the radiologist first to see whether IMRT, or SBRT would’ve be useful. Then go to medical oncologist for chemotherapy recommendation (ie: GEMOX or GEM/CIS or GEMCAP; the easiest among the three regimens would be GEMCAP due to less side effects.)
    God bless.

    Hi,
Since there is not any metastasis out side the liver, I will suggest you to see a liver surgeon first for the possibility of surgery . Surgery is the only possible cure for bile duct cancer. After that consultation with medical and radiation oncologist in a large medical institution is recommended. But you have to get the bilirubin down to 2 or less first.
    Go bless.

    Hi,
In most cases, if I understand your question correctly, most of the side effects will be list on the ” package insert” of the drug. And it will give you some ideas of what symptoms that you will encounter. You can look it up via Internet.Package insert is the official statement from the drug company about the specific drug it manufactured.
But if you are talking about symptoms predictability of the disease state of CCA,it really depends on an individual basis.(ie: jaundice is not for everyone until the bile flow is impeded;itching is relate to the accumulation of the bile salt under your skin, the more bile accumulated, the more and frequent you will be itching. ) I am a patient for three years and I did not have any of the above symptoms. But I do experience fatigue during my capecitabine adjuvant chemotherapy which is stated in the Xeloda ” package insert”.
    God bless.

    Hi,
Please do not worry, your doctor’s office personnel will help you to find the documentation that you needed;it is part of their job; all it needs is your doctor to submit the paper works again.

    Hi,
I have not found any poster or oral session that mentioned vitamin K2 that related to CCA.
but it does not mean that is not existed; either the author did not submit their findings or it was done so in the past. I will keep an eye on that.
6 year is a milestone in CCA and you should be happy about the quality of life that your dad enjoy without chemotherapy and radiation.
    God bless.

    Hi,
In this case 2 weeks on and 1 week off consist one cycle ( that is your cycle is 21 days for each cycle).
As Eli said, the term cycle is the proper way to describe the chemotherapy.
May I ask what chemo agent or regimen she was prescribed?
It will help to answer you better.
    God bless.

    Hi, Helen,
    Thanks for your inquiry.
Even it looks like we both travel on the same road via different buses; nobody will truly understand God’s intention until He review His final plans for each of us.
Therefore I respect your decision despite otherwise.
Below is the link that I posted not long ago. I use it when I am on the off week of chemotherapy.
    http://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/punbb/viewtopic.php?pid=61727#

I am not good at computers;therefore if the above link does not work;you just go there under the experience forum look for the above title, and you will find it.

I do not have any financial in the company at all; other herbal experiences that I wrote on the same board may be of interest to you too.
    God bless.
