Hi everyone,
Just wanted to check back with an update on John. Previously I had mentioned his fevers and fatigue after a stent change. After they removed the stent finally, all the fevers and fatigue are a thing of the past. It seems like it just wasn’t working at all and better not to have had it in the first place. He has since then been on antibiotics. I don’t know how long he will stay on them, but they seem to be doing their job if infection continues to threaten his body.
Lately he has been receiving iron and blood transfusion and feeling excellent. He’s gaining weight and has almost the normal energy of a 30 year old.
We are so happy for this and I pray that we continue in this good health.
Thanks again for all your support,
SarahsaracitaMemberThanks to all,
Will follow up with local herbalists to see if they can supply the seeds. I appreciate your responses very much!

saracitaMemberJamie D,
Could you give us information about where you have been treated? It sounds like you have received excellent care! I am very encouraged by your story, as I’m sure many other are. Thanks for posting about your experiences!

saracitaMemberMarion,
Thank you for your work, thank you for extending yourself out there for all of us that are battling this disease. I know that your work and advocacy is helping people every day.
Please keep us updated, or let us know how we can best stay updated ourselves, with the newest possible treatments/etc.
It’s so hard to know sometimes, if we are really asking all the questions that could be asked.

saracitaMemberHi tif_anne13, thanks for introducing yourself. I just wanted to let you know that my boyfriend is only 29 and was diagnosed with CC in Novemeber 2008. I really wish the best for you and I want you to know that there are wonderful people here.
I wondered also if your doctors mentioned the possibility of having radiation or did you not opt for that treatment? Sounds like your chemo is really helping your situation, I hope for more positive posts!

saracitaMemberviolarob, can you please explain your supplements of selenium, alpha lipoic acid, milk thistle, CoQ10, resveratrol, rice tocotrienols, and red yeast rice?
What exactly is each intended to do, and how much per day do you take?
Thanks so much,

We feel we are definitely racing against the clock. We have just arrived back home in Woodbridge, New Jersey (very close to NYC). I still am not convinced that John’s Hopkins performs Theraspheres, our doctor at Mayo hasn’t confirmed this. As I understand it, Theraspheres are different from Brachytherapy, using ytrium-90 instead of strontium-90, and using tiny glass beads to encapsulate the radiation.
I will look more into Johns Hopkins. I am glad they have treated your husband well there dlm2010. On their website they do not seem to treat CC with Theraspheres. Maybe it’s just an outdated site?
Any more info from others about east coast Theraspheres treatment centers?? Thanks so much!
