Betsy-Congrats, we need more “feel good there is HOPE” stories like yours. I will be 5 year cancer free May 24, 2014 thank to a transplant!!
I am curious though why would you need a transplant if you are cancer free and at the 5 year mark??
Lots of prayers for more milestones-Cathy

Oh, Betsy CONGRATULATIONS on being a Survivor and a Thriver! Much good luck on your evaluation and please let us know. Where would you have the surgery? This is THE way to start a New Year!

    Hi everyone!

Just celebrated my 5 year anniversary of being cancer-free. I’m still dealing with leaky bile ducts and drains and I’m being evaluated for a liver transplant. I’m am so grateful to still be here.

That’s brilliant news Johnny, superb in fact!!

And Heather, that’s great about Gordon as well! Hopefully when they reevaluate in a couple of weeks then the surgery will be back on the table again. Hoping that you have many more years together as well!

My positive news is my husband, Gordon was diagnosed Nov 2012 and the way the drs talked to us we didn’t know if he would be here today. He is doing great! He is on FOLFORI, just had his forth round, they may do one more. He has been on gim/cis and xyolota and gimzar. They cancelled surgery in August but they reelvuate here in a couple of weeks. We hope but our lives are not wrapped around the words “yes he can have surgery” That was too much last time….Gordons live was just not in good shape but now hopefully that will not be an issue. But I feel it is a blessing that we are coming up on a year. And I pray we have many more!!
