Keep hope Dawna! My mom had a resection last February and spots showed up on the CT scan shortly thereafter. She has been doing the chemo regimen for the last 6 months.
ajcarman72SpectatorI wish you all the best. My mom just won an appeal to have her Gemzar Oxaliplatin combo covered by her insurance – they told her the same thing, “this isn’t approved for cc”. Well like much is…
Anyways, keep up the fight on both sides – health-wise and with the insurance company.
ajcarman72SpectatorCongratulations! Your post provides so much exciting hope!
ajcarman72SpectatorHi Mom!!
Glad you are here and that you introduced yourself.
April
ajcarman72SpectatorIt’s Fridays for us. Yep, understand the butterflies even if it is just a routine visit.
ajcarman72SpectatorThinking about you both!!
ajcarman72SpectatorShe is in Northern Colorado. Three cyberknife centers within an hour drive of her, which is exciting!

ajcarman72SpectatorWelcome donellalu! Likewise my mom has cc and is young (56) as well. It is such a brutal disease. Wishing you all the best.
ajcarman72SpectatorWishing your mom and your brother all the best Ashley!
ajcarman72SpectatorHave a super trip!
So glad to see your upbeat post, it made me smile!
ajcarman72SpectatorI am so glad to read Lainy that Teddy has a routine that works that makes living with cc possible. I checked out the cyberknife and sent my mom the information, she has three cyber knife centers near her. I was glad you recommended it because I assumed knife = surgery and since hers is unresectable, I had assumed she wouldn’t be a candidate.
She recently registered for this site, now I just have to get her to post!!
Update: She and her doctor were surprised at the Mayo CT scan that indicated new tumor growth. It is possible, but there were difficulties in getting the CT scan (they weren’t able to use her port and there were issues with injecting the “dye”). They opted to continue Gemzar by itself for a few more weeks and redo the CT scan in a week or two and then reassess instead of jumping straight to Gemzar and Oxaliplatin. She tolerates the Gemzar so well that they were hesitant to switch it up so quickly.
ajcarman72SpectatorThanks Louise! I needed to hear that. You are so right.
ajcarman72SpectatorWonderful news! And very inspiring!
Isn’t it great to get good news finally. My mom recently had her first good CT scan and it was elating to us all.
My best wishes to you in continued success in your battle.
ajcarman72SpectatorI am so sorry for your loss. All my best to you and your family.
