bethtSpectatorI am thinking of you and praying for you.
BethbethtSpectatorI am so glad that you shared this. It brings me joy somehow that you have embraced this mind set. It helps me to as well.
bethtSpectatorMy heart sincrely goes out to you at this time. Know that I am thinking and praying for you and your family
bethtSpectatorMichelle….I’m so soory that this is happening to your family. My heart turly goes out to you.
I want on the bandwagon as well. I want to help get awareness out there for this awful cancer.bethtSpectatorI forgot to mention something….each time they went in to adjust his “tubes” he spiked a high temp. ai one point it was 104.1. They got it under control but I wanted to let you know.
bethtSpectatorMy husband just had this done last week. They were unsuccessful the first attempt to get the catheter tubes where they wanted them to be and they have since re done them twice. The last time was yesterday. They were able to get a biopsy on Friday thru one tube. We think they are done adjusting them. The tubes were attached to bags to help the liver drain. They drained a lot for the first two-three days but have since tapered off. They took off the bags yesterday. His bilirubin went from 12 to 7(as of Friday). They (the radiologists) were able to get a good tissue sample. We will find out the results tomorrow. The oncologist told us as well that my husband will start chemo with out knowing fully the results of the biopsy.
I hope this helps.
Be sure to prepare for a sore dad if they do the procedure and a lot of leakage.
Hope things go well and your Dad gets stronger.August 19, 2009 at 3:55 pm in reply to: Taking a poll to see if anything is similar with our cc patients…… #30733bethtSpectatorMy husband has always been healthy. He did work in a paint store for 10+ years and we were thinking the chemicals in the paint thinner etc might be the cause.
bethtSpectatorThanks for the responses. Art has an appointment to get a cathater and a biopsy on Monday. We had to make a few calls but it is now going to get done.
I will keep watch on his low grade fever. Could that keep them from doing the biopsy?
thanks againbethtSpectatorThanks for all the fast response and helpful advise.
Just to answer some questions…..they have done blood tests but i have no idea what the results really say…we are in cincinnati ohio and he will be treated at unversity hospital here by a Dr we were told is very experianced in this field.
I am anxious to hear more advise from all of you.
Thanks again! -
