Dear Richard, what a week ahead for you and your family. I know that must be scary for all of you when your Dad started feeling bad after having some good weeks. A late Happy Birthday to you. I’m sorry you’re having to go through all of this. I hope that you all get some comfort from your Dad talking to your Mom about what he wants.

Bill, Amy, Charlie, Linda and you Richard are in my prayers this week and every day. You all have a lot to go through this week. I’ll pray for strength and comfort for you and God’s healing hand for your Dad. Like you said, I’m glad you’re all together. Let us know how things go this week when you can.

Richard, we’re doing well. Charlie’s just very very sore, but doing well. How is your Dad? I hope you’ll have a blessed Thanksgiving with him and your family. You all are always in my prayers. Thanks so much for praying for Sarah and Ben too. They’ve been a little lost, but much better now that we’re home.

Dear Greg, my heart goes out to you. This is so hard and unfair. I pray for strength, comfort and peace for your Mom, you and your family. I hope your Mom is closer home now. That drive is exhausting. Take care of yourself.

To Kris, Colleen, Jean, Betty and Lana, thank you all so much for your heartfelt thoughts and prayers!! You just don’t know what you and the others here mean to me.

You were right again Kris, it was good to go ahead and get it over with – less time to worry!

God gives us strength, but so do all of you.

    Love, Carol

Hi Jerry, I loved what you wrote. What a great attitude you have! It sounds like you have been through about every treatment. I think that’s key too, having hobbies and keeping busy. Thanks for your encouragement. Charlie is doing well after surgery. Looking forward to a wonderful Thanksgiving. I wish that for you and your big family too!

Dear Jean, thank you for your prayers. We could feel them. Charlie’s 2 sisters waited with me all day on surgery day. So glad to have them with me. Love will always be here just like you said. You’re a blessing!

Kris, I’m just now getting back to you. The constipation is a problem, isn’t it? Your pillow idea against the incision is brilliant! You’re exactly right about the surgeons that perform this. We heard from others that the surgeon, Dr. Calvo is exceptional and performs surgeries others won’t touch. He was great. You’ve been so helpful during my dark times. Let us all be here for you during yours. Prayers and Best Wishes!

Hey Kris, waiting for results is nerve wracking!! Please, please don’t get ahead of yourself like I always do and think the worst. You’re in my prayers daily. You’ve been such a great source of love and encouragement for me during Charlie’s illness. I hope you get to come home to SC. Do you like James Taylor? You’re probably too young. His song, Carolina On My Mind will make you homesick, so don’t listen to it unless you get to go. I’m in NC, we’re practically sisters. Don’t give up, you have strength you don’t even know about yet.

Hi, I hope all went well when the surgeon told your Mom. Having you with her will give her strength. So sorry you’re all having to experience this. You and your Mom are in my prayers. Please let us know how you’re doing.

Richard, you’re right about the power of prayer! I hope and pray your Dad is doing better. I know what you mean about chemo. At some point in the future, Charlie might have to decide whether to start it again too and it’s so rough on their bodies. Always keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Kris, you’re in our prayers too!!

Hi Jeff, Charlie’s been a Dallas Cowboys fan since he was a little boy. Sing away with your Christmas Carols Jeff. I’ll join you. So far so good. Good tip about the Gaviscon. Wish I could get him to take it, but he enjoys the gasiness too much. He thinks it’s hilarious. So who am I to take that from him?? I was thinking cyber knife too. Met with surgeon just for check up on Fri. Sounds like all is well. Meet with oncologist that was the first dr. we met at UNC to see what’s next if anything end of Nov.

Thank you all for your prayers! I wish you all a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving!!
