    Dear Rebecca,

I agree with you that you have exceeded her expectations and have done everything you can for your mum. Yes, you will have all these memories of the tender moments you share and knowing that you have done all you could do and then some in a most difficult and trying situation. Dealing with someone with CC has got to be the hardest thing any of us have had to do and know that you are doing a stellar job for and with your mum. We are all right there with you in spirit, by your side to give you the strength to persevere. Keep us updated when you can. We all know & understand what you are going through and truly do care.

    Hugs,
    Darla

    Nicola,

I’m glad that you and Tiah have connected, both living in Adelaide. I too hope your dad can be kept pain free. He is dealing with so many health issues at this point that keeping his pain under control is important. Interesting that your dad has many issues, but does not suffer from dementia. Mine is physically relatively healthy but does have memory issues. He is almost 90 and currently in a memory care unit. I must commend you and all those who work in and for those in need of this kind of care. You are all angels in my book.

Take care and update us on how your dad is doing when you can.

    Hi Nicola,

Welcome to our group. I am glad you found us, but sorry you had to. On the positive side, it is good that your dad is not in pain and hopefully that will be controlled with his palliative care. It’s hard to predicted when & how things will progress. The palliative team should be able to give you some help with that. We also have a member who has a list of things to watch for and I’m hoping she will be in contact with you soon and can send that on to you or you could contact her by searching the user list for Lainy and send her a message asking for it.

Hang in there and know that we are all here to help and support you in any way that we can.

    Hugs,
    Darla

Small world indeed. I’m not positive, but think he will be teaching Poly Sci.

    Rachael,

Thanks for joining us and for your positive post. So happy to hear of your husbands success with his treatment. It gives hope to others here.

Just an interesting coincidence. My nephew and his family just completed their move from Silver Spring. MD to Austin. Arrived there a few hours ago. He was offered a job as a professor at UT Austin. I’m sure he and his family will be very happy there.

Hoping to hear more positive news from you in the future.

Take care. My best wishes to you and your husband.

    Tony,

I am so sorry to hear this. You are all doing what you can at this point. Keeping her comfortable and as free of pain as possible is most important. Glad to hear she has her loved ones at her side and I am sure she is aware of this.

Know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla
