SpectatorJason,
Thanks for posting this. I just went through this today and just before reading this I copied and pasted the information into my reply. Next time I will know better and do it your way.
Thanks for taking the time to figure this out and educate the rest of us. I will be watching for updates should you find a better more foolproof method.

Re: Shock and augh! (31 replies, posted in General Discussion)Rob,I’m not sure that I’ve ever mentioned this on this borad, but I’m a nurse and I used to work on the liver tumor/transplant floor and then went to the transplant ICU. And, now ironically I have a liver tumor! Anyway, some of the patients would obviously get ascites if they have liver issues, but sometimes they would get edema in other parts of their body, commonly their legs but also their testicles. I don’t know if that is what is happening to you since it sounds like it’s only one side, but maybe a possibility?? Either way you should have someone look at it asap. If it is just swelling, then yes, washcloths under the testicles help. Best wishes!

Re: Shock and augh! (31 replies, posted in General Discussion)Hi! My husband had difficulty with testicle swelling from being in a hospital bed for long periods. Much like they elevate your legs to prevent swelling, they would fold up a washcloth and elevate his testicles…one of the rather uncomfortable side effects that goes along with all this. We did have some laughs over it though!! Good luck and I hope u get good news soon.Go to forum: General Discussion Go to topic: Shock and augh! Go to post 3

Topic: pulmonary embolus, stent replacement, filter, and a few other problem (7 replies, posted in General Discussion)My husband had a a porta embol, since that time he has had alot or problems, he had gallbladder cancer, removed it, he has tumors on his liver and bile duct. They placed a stent in him since there was no flow from the bile duct. He then went into the er with problems breathing, it showed he had pulmonary embolus, they put a filter in him to catch future ones, but the two left in his lungs will remain, they cannot give him blood thinner since he has a hematoma from the gallgladder surgry and he could bleed internally. Then he started having terrible pain and they found out his stent had moved and they went in and replaced it, ever since his last ercp (to remove and replace the new stent, he has total confusion, his speech is slurred and he has terrible swelling in his legs and testicles. It has been 3 days since he has had any morphine or any pain pills. I think they gave him to much morphine, and they did give him 3 doses of narcan, he still is confused and speech is still slurred, the doctors dont really seem to be doing anything about this, he did have a head ct. and a abdominal one too, but it seems like they dont know why this is occuring or they are just not telling us. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone out there or does anyone have any ideas what is wrong with him. He can hardly stand up now. He came into the hospital sharp , not confused, just in pain and breathing problems.diane

SpectatorThanks for sharing Terry’s obituary. It sounds like he was a fine man with a variety of interests and that you two had many adventures and a wonderful life together. Hold on to those memories. Would also like to thank you for your generous suggestion of sending donations to the foundation.

That is something to think about. Yes, Margaret is a very sweet and caring lady and I’m so glad she is part of our family. Maybe her and others could join us. For now you need to take care of yourself. Take care dear lady.

SpectatorFaisal,
Yes, that is good and as Lainy mentioned, after this there are still other options. Things have progressed in the past 5 years with treatment of CC.
Wishing your dad the best with this treatment and you also. Take care.Love & Hugs,

SpectatorLainy, You’ve got that right. I too remember snow in May.
Today was just beautiful and I took full advantage of it. Even got the van washed, but tonight it’s going to be nasty and then back to the deep freeze. The first winter after Jim died we got a lot of snow, but the temps weren’t bad. This winter has just been brutal and unbearable. I try to keep from thinking that if Jim were alive we probably would be living near you by now. It’s just too depressing. That said, if Jim hadn’t had CC and I hadn’t dealt with all of that, I would never have found this forum and all the wonderful friends and support I now have all over the world. For that I am forever grateful.
Take care of yourself Lainy. I’ll be thinking of you and hoping all goes well. Keep smiling.
Love & Hugs,
Darladarla
SpectatorDear Linda,
I am so sorry to hear that your dear husband has passed. Take comfort in knowing that his suffering is over and he is no longer in pain. He is in a better place. Keep him with you forever in your heart and your memories. As Lainy already mentioned, eventually memories of the good times will over take the memories of these past months. Know that I am thinking of you as you go through these sad and trying days.
Love & Hugs,
