    Dear Hans,

Thanks for sharing this. Although I never met Kris or you in person I feel I know you both so well. There is nothing I can say to easy your pain, just know that I am thinking of you and hoping you can take comfort in knowing how much Kris has meant to so many. She will be greatly missed. Take care of yourself now Hans and know that we are all here for you.

    Codergirl,

I also would like to extend my condolences to you and the rest of your family on the loss of your mother. She is now in a better place, no longer suffering and in pain. Remember that she will be with you forever in your heart and memories. May that give you some comfort and peace in the days to come.

    Lainy,

I agree with Marion and Pam. If you are comfortable leaving it on and it brings you comfort then that’s all that matters. And yes, it is also a good idea from a security stand point.

I too was shocked to hear this sad news. My heart goes out to you Hans and the rest of your and Kris’s family. She was always so positive and optimistic. She fought a good battle. May she now rest in peace.

    Nancy,

Many of us have discussed this and you may want to try the search option and put in liver flukes. Something should come up. I agree, this is a rare cancer here, but is very common in Asian countries.

I am sorry you need to be here, but glad that you found us. As you already know, when dealing with CC this is the best place to be for help & support.

Take care Nancy and keep posting and let us know how things are going for Doug.

    Dear Joanie,

I know nothing can ease your pain and sorrow right now, but just know that you are not alone. My story is much like Katie’s. My husband passed away 7 weeks after his first admittance to emergency. He was 62 and never had any health problems before this. As Katie said, you don’t even have time to absorb the fact that this has happened and they are gone. It is all so hard to accept. I take comfort and I hope you can too in the fact that at least they did not suffer for a long time and are now in a better place with no more pain and suffering. Your Mom will always be with you in your heart and memories.

Take care Joanie and come back whenever you need to. Even if it is just to vent your feelings. It does help. There are a lot of good people here willing to listen and help and support you. I found this site a few days after Jim passed away and it has really helped me to stay strong and keep on going.

Thinking of you and your family and hoping for better days ahead.

    Love,
    Darla

    Oh Beth,

I too am sorry to hear things are not going well, but if anyone can beat this Dave can. He has done it before and hopefully will do it again. Stay strong Beth and keep smiling through those tears. More positive thoughts coming your way.

Oh Margaret what next! Sorry to hear about your latest set back, but I know you are strong and will carry on as you always have. I am glad you have a neighbor willing to help out with Tom if necessary. Don’t try to be too strong, take the help that is offered if you feel it is needed. You need to take care of you too so you can keep on doing your best for Tom. I will be thinking of you and hoping for the best, what ever that can be. :)

    Tommyguns56,

You also have my deepest sympathy and understanding. My husband was 62 and died 7 weeks after his first admittance to emergency and only a week after they definitively diagnosised it as CC. I came here a few days after he passed and I highly recommend you stay with us. The strength and support I have gotten from all the caring people on this site is what has kept me sane. When it happens this quickly, you really don’t even get a chance to wrap your mind around it and they are gone. I have been told your thoughts and feelings can be similar to those with post traumatic stress syndrome. Try to remember your dad the way he was before all of this happened and know that he is now in a better place, no longer suffering or in pain. He will always be with you in your heart and memories.

Please come back often even if it is just to vent you feelings. It will help and we are all here for you.

Cathy, Great article. I put christmas miracle into the search box and found it that way so for now it is still there. Glad your positive story is giving more attention to this rare form of cancer. Darla

We were told it could have been there for 30 or 40 years. Silent & hiding.
