Good luck Kristin. I am sure a lot of thought went into make the decision to take this big step. I too am hoping that Doofus & Pipsqueek won’t know what hit them and will be quickly blasted away.

    Dear Beth,

What both Lainy & Amy have said is all so true. I too have my regrets, but we can’t change anything so we have to try not to dwell on those times and replace all that with all the memories of good times. It isn’t easy. I might suggest expressing your feelings to our Dr. Giles. I did that and he gave me some good insight and his words were comforting to me and helped me to see things more clearly. You can contact him by clicking the Patient Support tab on the top of the page and then Ask Dr. Giles.

Know that I am thinking of you and that many of us have the same thoughts and feelings that you are having and we are all here to help each other get through all of this.

    Take care Beth.

    Cale,

I too am glad you have found this site. Dealing with CC is not easy as it is so rare and there is not a lot of information out there. This is the place to be. You are young and have a great attitude. I am hoping for you to have a successful surgery. Come here whenever you need to talk or just to vent. There are a lot of good people here all ready and willing to help and support you.

    Take care Cale.

    Oh Terry,

Your post reminded me that shortly after Jim passed away I had several “accidents”. Tripping, falling etc. Luckily, so far, nothing I couldn’t deal with. I think we are just so distracted by our circumstances that we aren’t thinking clearly or being careful enough. I so often think what will happen now that Jim is not here to help and take care of me. Some days I even think “who cares what happens, what difference does it make anyway”. We always thought we would be here for each other, no matter what and now we are coping with everything alone. :( I was also told to keep my cell with me, but I figure with my luck I would fall on it and break it or it would go flying out of reach. :) I think you are right, we have to learn some new ways and also be more careful and cautious. It sure does make you feel more vulnerable and makes you think more about how to do things. Last fall I hit a deer and had to deal with it on my own, and amazingly I handled it all on my own, with the help of my cell phone. :) I guess we are stronger than we think we are. I am glad you managed and are OK. Realistically I know that life goes on, but it sure will never be the same again, will it? Take care Terry.

    Hi Everyone,

Yes Pauline, I am trying hard not to dwell on what all happened that summer and to think more of all the good times and happy memories. It isn’t always easy, but it does help. I also am trying to keep busy and be more sociable, but I always feel like my heart is just not in it. I hope you were able to relax and enjoy some of your time in Italy. Getting back in a routine and having to focus on things and function on a day to day basis is also a challenge, but atleast it keeps us going. Good luck as you return to your next academic year.

Janet, I am glad things are going well and you are able to get back to work even if on a limited basis. Spring coming also has to lift the spirits. We are having really hot humid weather, which will quickly change to fall & then winter. :( I’ll just think of you, the pools and the beautiful weather you are enjoying as we go through the rough months here. I too hope things are going well for both Joyce & Sue and everone else here.

Everyone take care and keep in touch. It is the love, support and understanding of everyone here that gives us the strength to go on.

    Love & Hugs To All,
    Darla

    Hi Terry,

Sounds like you have a rough month ahead of you. I sure do know how you are feeling. Our situations are so similar. It seems like everything is a hugh challenge now that we have to deal with it all on our own. You will deal with it all, tho’ and it will be OK. Before you know it September and all these challenges will be behind you. Take care, Terry and try to stay strong. Know that I am thinking of you and hoping everything works out for the best. Keep posting your feelings and let us know how you are doing. It doesn’t change anything, but it does help to share your feelings and to know that others understand and care.

    Hi Kris,

Not the best of news, but as the others have said, they don’t know who they are dealing with! We’ll just wait and see what the rest of the week brings. Hopefully some better news. Yes, we are all here for you and we’ll be waiting to hear about the Wednesday and Friday meetings and hoping for the best. Know that you and Hans are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Dear Sarah,

Yes, I understand. I hate being alone too. It has been almost 2 years for me too since I lost my husband to CC. I feel the same as you when I hear friends complaining about their spouse’s. Why can’t they just be happy and appreciate what they have? Once it is gone, it is too late. My life too has been reduced to before & after. I think you do have a valid point. You have expressed your feelings and let let us who share those feelings know that it is normal to feel as we do. It will be OK. It will never be the same, but it will be OK. Vent all you want or need to. You are not alone. We are all here for you and for each other. Take care Sarah.

    Lainy,

Good call. I don’t think anyone will even notice. I will say a few extra prays for strength for you next week. You are such a strong person, I know you can handle it and you and Teddy will do just fine and you know where to come when you need more strength and support. We are all here for you as you and Teddy have always been for all of us.
