So a couple of people said there surgeries were aborted, was this when they got in or before the procedure even started.
Just a refresher is my husband is scheduled Aug 20th, just trying to know what to expect could possibly happen.
One thing that Dr. Javle told us is he has had patients live for a long time with this cancer. When I ask Dr. Vautheys PA about prognosis he said there isn’t enough data to answer my questions. Which mine was concering after the surgery. It so frustrating but I will never give up with my hubby surgery or not we are going to kick some cc butt!!!
heatherMemberThank you and yes he is doing great!! We had dinner out yesterday and did some shopping
heatherMemberThanks, yeah I accidently put this in the wrong spot, they did rule out pancreatitis. We called the dr today and his system is just trying to adjust because of all the antibiotic. He has actually improved. They also said try probiotics. So no worries anymore. i was trying to delete this since i put it in the wrong place and called the doc but wasnt sure how to do it! LOL
Thank you for answering

heatherMemberHang in there sweetie!!! This forum is amazing and has helped us we have a little one too and its so overwhelming to read the stats that this only happens to older people but it does happen to my husbands age and even younger. My husband goes to MD Anderson and see Dr. Javle. We are so thankful we did because we did find out Gordon can have surgery. In Austin Texas we told it couldn’t be done. So now guess what? We have hope!! When before we felt like we didn’t. We too have a strong faith and there is no way we could have gotten through this. Research, ask advice and get 2nd or even 3rd opinions!! I will keep you in my prayers!
heatherMemberMy husband was diagnosed with cc in November and I am fairly new to this forum but from what we understand from our doctors is to try not to pay too much attention to the statistics because every person is different. Gordon is getting ready to have a liver resection and the drs and us will be going scan to scan after the surgery, praying it does not return but if it does we will attack it!! There is one person on here that his wife a surgery in 2005 and she is still doing good. But this isn’t always the case….it is so scary with the unknown about this decease but this is such an amazing forum to help with some of those questions. Good luck to you I pray you can find some peace and comfort from all of us.

heatherMemberGordon is home now. Doing well, the surgery date is still August 20th. After visiting with the drs on the phone today and updating them we feel good about this surgery. Thank you guys for your thoughts and prayers.

heatherMemberThank you Susan…..how is your husband doing?
Gordon isn’t getting out of the hospital until tomorrow, his white blood cell count needs to go down a little more. I’m waiting to here from MDA if they will want to see him too, just hoping they don’t change the surgery date but understand.
heatherMemberHey there,
I love this forum, you have come to a great place for support and advise. I sent you a message, maybe we could visit soon. Your husband is lucky to have you!

heatherMemberGordon should go home tomorrow. He is much better, he was up all night last night getting rid of the “discomfort” I stayed home with our little one, he had been left so much he needed me. Gordon got alot of rest at the hospital believe or not. they knew he needed and I got caught up on things here at the house and some much needed time with our son. And after sleeping I was able to think clearer. When Gordon was in the hospital for 16 days when he was diagnosed I never left the hospital, unless it was running a quick errand. I pray he stays healthy and surgery goes well. His beliruben is lowering after the stent replacement but his white blood cell level is still high. They dont seem too worried about it….
I do have a question….I was reassured from the doctor that the surgery is 90% sure should be a success. I have seen post that maybe it happens more time than realized that they get in there and it can’t, can anyone get me advise on this?
heatherMembermy poor husband…..he is struggling with gas build up from the procedure and is also having pain from I guess having two procedures in two weeks. His pain is under control and he is able to rest which i have been able to work but I cant see straight anymore so the computer needs to go off!! Hoping he will get some relief tomorrow.
heatherMemberOur little one is mucho better since he is with and was able to see his Daddy. Gordon is in sugery now to replace the stents. He has improved alot over night an today. Not much pain and his white blood cell count is normal.
heatherMemberI wish we could all just have lunch….I have goosebumps with all the encouragement and support!! I really love this forum!! What a blessing and I reading all these posts and replies to him!! Maybe he will eventually get on too!!!! Just today my wonderful doctor didn’t charge me for my doctor visit, a sweet friend sent us money to help with our lodging. And our sons book for his private school were free. Someone told me when my husband was diagnosed to be prepared because everyone you meet from now on will be angels!! well yall are now in that club too!!!! Thank you Im done now!!! LOL
