Thanks Deane and Marions
Queensland (Surfers Pardise) is lovely at the moment. Sitting on the balcony On the 27 th floor and looking over the ocean and thinking of mum. I am trying to enjoy myself as much as possible, but my mind always turns to mum.
Anyway, take care

I always have a smile on my face reading your replies. Thanks so much for your responses.
P.S. Lots of water where I am at the moment. Currently on vacation with my wife and boys here on the gold coast in Queensland. It’s a lot like your Miami.
iliasMemberHi Marions
Thanks for the details, but Canberra and Sydney are a little too far for mum to travel. My brother in law is a local physician here in Melbourne and his best friend is head of radiology oncology at the Epworth. Mum is currently seeing a very good oncologist at the moment, but unfortunate he has no compassion and bedside manner. I have asked him for information about mum’s results in the past but does not bother to communicate in a friendly manner. He is rude and arrogant. My mum’s English is not the best and trying to act as an interpreter is sometimes difficult. This is why I would like to see somebody with some manners. My brother in laws mate has some other oncologist in mind if we are willing to switch.
Anyway, I will keep you all up to date after mums CT tomorrow.
Take Care
IliasiliasMemberThank you Marions and Pamela. The family are being as strong as we can be. Mum is regaining her strength each day. Looking at her the last week you would never think she was struck by such a horrid disease. She is eating well, walking and laughing.
IliasiliasMemberAnnie thanks so much for your your kind thoughts. I am so sorry you had to endure this twice. Thinking of you always
Ilias
iliasMemberI am so sorry to wake up to this news this morning Please accept my deepest and sincere condolances.

IliasiliasMemberHi Laurie,
don’t mean to scare you, but mum was so ill on Sunday night. Dad called and by the time I got there she had collapsed. We called an ambulance and they took her srtaight to the ER at Epworth. She had bloods done on Sunday and we only got the results yesterday. They found that she has staph and more than likely contracted this through the hospital. She is on a very strong course of antibiotics and we are hoping she starts to feel better.
In addition the oncologist decided to do an ultrasound of the liver and found a lesion. He said it may be part of the infection and was going to have it drained/biopsied.
Mum has had a real hard time with her Gem/Cis and the oncologist has now stopped it. I am hoping it can start once her infection clears up.
Take care and best wishes
IliasiliasMemberHey Janet…hoping you are well..thanks so much for the kind wishes..she is being treated at the Epworth in Richmond. Both her oncologists have their private rooms at the Epworth.
She had her Gemzar this morning and has been admitted for 3 nights for observation. I guess this is due to the Cisplatin she will have tomorrow. I must say it is the best she has felt since her whipples in July ( Probably due to the anti nausea infused before chemo).
She also felt lucky and asked me to buy her a lottery ticket for Tuesday nights OZ lotto $70m draw.
Here’s to luck and good progress for all CC patients.
I will keep you posted.
Cheers
IliasiliasMemberTiffany. All the very best and look forward to getting your good news soon
Cheers
IliasiliasMemberHey all. Mum is lying in bed having Gemzar. Tomorrow she commences cisplatin. Oncologist has referred to it as a local progression. He says it is serious, but confident with the treatment.
I am hoping all goes well. She will have a scan after her final treatment in December. Please pray for good news.
Please take care all
IliasiliasMemberThank you so much Cindy. Take care
