JanBee, when my appetite was down, I drank ensure. It’s loaded with nutrients and much needed calories. I found it easier to eat “simple” foods like smoothies, soups, jello…. Good luck and I hope he starts feeling better soon.
kris00jSpectatorValwong, great news indeed! It’s very promising that it’s dropped so much. And you are correct… Attitude is everything.
kris00jSpectatorCarl,
I am sorry to be reading this. I sincerely hope FOLFOX does the trick. The main chemos I’ve heard of are Gemzar paired with a number of things.
Cisplatin, oxaliplatin, Xeloda, 5FU are the main drugs I’ve heard of, paired with each other or Gemzar. And FUDR, which is 5FU for the infusion pump.
I wish I could be of more help.kris00jSpectatorYAYAYAYAYAYAY!! Love posts like this! Happy birthday!!
kris00jSpectatorI agree! So glad you switched docs! I know my view on LIFE changed when I found Dr. D! Before I was treading water, always waiting for the next shoe to drop. Now? I don’t care! I love my doc and know she wants the best for me. And that makes my stress level nonexistent!
kris00jSpectatorOh, Carl. I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do.
Did you ever have the genomic sequencing done? It seems to have targeted specific treatment options for me…
I sure hope the Folfox helps Lynn. Kick some butt! Please keep me posted.May 23, 2014 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma in a worker at an offset color proof-p #82587kris00jSpectatorConsidering I worked at printing plants, changed lots of chemicals, etc…. I’m not surprised.
kris00jSpectatorI’m so happy to hear of your more positive visit with your new onc. (I won’t say good, because we would all prefer not to have to fight this!)
Memory problems are such a pain! Just be careful and write stuff down! It really makes life easier.kris00jSpectatorKick butt!!!
kris00jSpectatorSally, good luck to your sister. I’m not sure where she is going now for treatment? If they did genomic sequencing through Foundation One, the last page shows any possible trials or treatments based on the sequencing.
If not, look broader for just the mutation on the trial links. There may be trials for another form of cancer with the same sequencing.
I hope cyber knife or surgery can kick cc’s butt for her, but alternatives are a good thing to research ahead of time.kris00jSpectatorCarl, how is Lynn doing?
kris00jSpectatorKelly,
I am so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. She was such a kind, thoughtful woman. I enjoyed meeting her.
I wish I had read this. I would have gone to the memorial service.
May your family find strength in the knowledge that she is at peace, and cancer free.kris00jSpectatorDon’t forget Philly Cheesesteaks!!
kris00jSpectatorCycle 14 is complete! Still have adema, but it’s ok. Met with Dr. Denlinger about results of genomic testing, and she has a couple of ideas in the works. I have some homework to do!
Meanwhile, on to cycle 15!
Will post genomic stuff in the other thread.By the way, CA19-9 is 39.8. Still higher than normal, but low for most of this fight.
kris00jSpectatorThanks for the great update! I hope that Lisa continues to heal as nicely from the surgery.
