SpectatorI hope your dad’s on the mend today, Dianne. I was told to monitor my sister’s temperature if she registers 37.5 degrees & to get her to A&E if she hits 38.
My experience certainly is that the colder she feels to my touch, the higher her core temperature is going. The other day she was 38.2 but her skin felt quite cool whereas a short while later her skin was burning to the touch & she was dripping with sweat but her temperature had dropped to 37.
I find these episodes very distressing. I hope you’ve managed to catch up on your sleep.
My best wishes to you & your Dad.

SpectatorWelcome, Emily’s Stepmom – When my sister was diagnosed last August I described my reaction as “bouncing off the walls”, so I certainly know about that awful feeling of being totally overwhelmed.
You’re in the right place to receive information, help & support & you’ll find you’re giving support to others, too, just by being here.
My very best wishes to you all.

SpectatorA big welcome to you, Fern – & what a lovely signature post you’ve added to your profile.
I’m so sorry to hear about your mum & when you wrote: “I feel so helpless and ashamed that I am falling apart when my mom is the one who is ill. She feels fine except for being tired” I can really relate to that. That pretty much sums up how I was feeling about my sister’s illness only a few weeks ago. The support you’ll get from this site really helped me & will really help you, too, so do please keep coming back & talking to us.
My best wishes to you & your family.
