ModeratorBelle,
Images are usually 0.5-1cm thick, meaning nodules could easily be missed on past or future studies therefore; it is not uncommon for the true extent of disease progression to become apparent while undergoing exploratory surgery. It happens quite frequently and is always disappointing however; others on the board have experienced similar circumstances and have chosen to undergo varied treatment protocols.
Please, stay in touch as most likely treatment options will be presented to you by the oncologist, surgeon, or interventional radiologist of which many, if not all, have been discussed on this board. Hopefully, more information and encouragement will be coming your way from other members of this site.
Wishing for the absolute best,

ModeratorDear Jeff,
Welcome to the site and so sorry for the circumstances leading you here.
Personally, I believe in gathering as much knowledge as possible when encountering the diagnoses of CC. This encompasses the collection of all medical records, including the surgery report, CT scans, physicianmarions
ModeratorCandy,
I would not consider taking any measures in re: treatment until other opinions have been gathered. As Brenda had mentioned, a third or possible fourth opinion is in order. I would gather all records CT scans, blood tests, tumor markers tests, physician’s comments, etc. and forward it to other specialists familiar with CC.
Wishing for the best

Moderatorgrafsj,
remember, the search function is a great tool especially when looking for prior experiences, hints and tips. And, there is no prediction as to whether you will ever need to address the “itching” issue as it doesn’t happen for everyone.
Positive thoughts coming your way.

ModeratorCarol,
we had tried Eucerin Itch-Relief Moisturizing Spray which gave temporary relief (about 2 hours) from itching. Taking a shower several times per day and especially at night then using the spray seemed to be the most helpful to my husband, at that time. And of course, Ursidol (as Peter mentioned) certainly gave him longer itch-free periods of time.
Hopefully, this is a temporary situation. Thinking of Charlie and you.

ModeratorWould like to add to all the other great posts that I also love to see good news coming this way. It is that what makes us surge forward in the quest of finding early detection and treatments for this cancer.

ModeratorDear Amilcar,
This is a very special time for you as it was for us and yes, it will test you immensely but, I am positive that you will do everything in your power to have the attending nurses eliminate any pain or discomfort your dear Dad is experiencing, at this time.
I recall cherishing the moments of the present as my husband moved in to the next phase of his live and thus allowing me the comfort of knowing that everything possible had been done to beat this cancer, just as you have done.
My heart is with you and your family

ModeratorCandy,
Has your brother mentioned anything to you re: to his treatment choices?
I am a great believer in second, third and possibly fourth opinions. Copies of the medical records, CT scans, physician -
