Blue Cross did not provide us with an advocat in 2006 they did however, allow us to have a case worker due to the fact, that it was CC.
It proved itself to be of tremendous help, as plenty times the need arose for a quick response from the insurer. The case worker went so far as to keep me posted whenever she would not be available.
Unfortunately, once a denial had been entered in to the computer system, the case worker had no authority to implore for any changes to be made.
Still, it is always beneficial to have someone from the inside working with you.
Wishing you the best of luck
MarionsmarionsModeratorNicole,
You may already have this information however, I thought to post it anyway. Here is the web page for the California Department of Managed Care. The consumer complaint section will help you describe your specific complaint and give you the direction you need to proceed.

Good luck and keep up the fight
MarionsmarionsModeratorLinda,
Glad to hear your brother relieving you of some stress by visiting your mom.
Tylenol worked great for us. At times, when needed, we used other pain medication, also.
By using the 1-10 method (1 being the most comfortable) we were able to keep things under control. It sounds, as if you are a great team supporting your Mom; the physician, the daily visit of the nurse, you and your brother.
Wishing the very best for your MommarionsModeratorLana,

Wishing the best for you DadmarionsModeratorKarenp,
My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. Losing your parents so close together is especially painful. You can be assured of prayers coming your way, as so many of us had to walk this road already.
You will be in my thoughts when you are meeting with the doctor.
MarionsmarionsModeratorthrugh4u,
you are not fighting a losing battle at all. In fact, you are bringing out an opinion causing us to think and evaluate a surgeon. This is beneficial, as all of us are working towards the same goal: awareness, hope and a cure for this cancer.
Thanks for your input
MarionsmarionsModeratorKris,
I am following the others. Tons of good wishes coming your way. Can you feel it?
Hugs
MarionmarionsModeratorLinda,
Hoping for you to have a clearer picture after the doctor’s visit tomorrow.

great posting and an informative read.
In re: to Dr. Canady however, I believe we are trying to differentiate between “aggressiveness” and “recklessness”.
