We had been told that my husband had 12 months to live with chemo – six months without chemo. You have to exhaust all resources. The greatest difficulty is in discoverying such resources. We are forever indebted to the wonderful people who developed this website and to Peter, who posted his experience with CC and the name of Dr. Jenkins. I will gladly forward the surgery report to anyone requesting it on this site, if it can be of any help in chosing a doctor to perform such a complicated operation. There may very well be someone in Australia who can help you.
Good luck
MarionSmarionsModeratorHe had a liver resection plus bile duct removal and was as Dr. Jenkins says: replumbed. The surgery was performed on June 2nd 2006. Thanks for your nice response
marionsModeratorDear Randi,
My family and I are so very sad to hear of your Dad’s passing. I have been following your posts regularly and I would like to let you know that your Dad has touched our lifes a world away, in California.
All our love
MarionmarionsModeratorJules,
You and your Dad are such an inspiration to us. Thinking of you two.marionsModeratorThat is so nice to hear and confirms that we have made a great decision in re: to chosen a surgeon. How is your close relative handling the aftercare and what does it consists of? Our best to her and everyone involved.
marionsModeratorHi Jules,
so nice to hear that your Dad is doing well and that he is tolerating the chemo. How long is he to be on it and when will he go for his scans?
Our thoughts are with you and your Dad.

Good Luck
MarionSmarionsModeratorI am so sorry to hear about your husband. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
MarionSmarionsModeratorJules,
Dr. Jenkins is doing follow up for my husband. CT scan every three months in addition to a blood test every six weeks. Though the detection of recurrence of this cancer is difficult to diagnose, he is truly the one we trust. My husband will be under care here locally also.I wonder often about physichians linking to this web site since so much valuable information shows up. Some of our doc friends are doing it already. Though I have poured over tons of studies in re: to cc, I find the info here invaluable.
Wishing the best for your Dad
MarionmarionsModeratorThat of course is something we are still battling with. My husband will have a CT scan every three months in addition to the blood test.
marionsModeratorHope that your Mum is doing well also. Thank you for the kind words.
marionsModeratorI wanted to mention also that Dr. Jenkins is publishing a paper in re: to CC by next year. I will find out more about it and will pass on the info.

Thanks you so much. I am planning on writing more about our experience within the next couple of days.
marionsModeratorPeter, you are the person I was looking for. Dr. Jenkins remembered you since I had told him about my finding his name on this website through you. Yes, I am sure that we would like to talk to you. I am hoping to have some time this weekend to write l about our experience with this cancer and the following process leading to surgery.
