    Dear Deb,

It breaks my heart that you have lost your husband at a young age and your dear children have lost their father. I am sorry the disease progressed so quickly. I will pray for God to give you and your children the strength to carry on and live your lives to the fullest. I hope your sadness and pain turns to fond memories of your dear husband.

    Dear Bob,

I am so sorry to hear that your Sheila has passed. You fought so long and hard to find a treatment to help her. Any woman would be lucky to have a man that stood beside her, the way you did for Sheila. What a blessing that she got to leave this world in the loving arms of you, her dear husband. You were her comfort and strength to the end. You are a wonderful man. God bless you and may Sheila find peace in her eternal life.

    Hi Shlamoney,

Welcome to our family. I do think chemo works. My daughter, Lauren is 26 and has CC. She has a large tumor in her right side and several small tumors in the left. Her large tumor has shrunk 4 cm. since Sept. and she feels way better. Her small tumors have also shrunk. Her last MRI showed that her tumors are now more stable than drastic shrinking like before. The doctors are now planning for radioembolization with Y90. Her surgeon feels that if the small tumors are targeted and killed, she will be able to have a resection. So without the chemo, this all would never be possible. One definite vote that chemo works. Not for everyone, but you never know unless you try it. Please try to keep a positive outlook and never give up.

    Susie,

My daughter, Lauren, just turned 26 and has CC. She has one tumor that started out 17×14 and it has shrunk 4 cm. each way with chemo. She was diagnosed Aug. 29, 2011. She was told she was unresectable because she has other small tumors in the left side of her liver and her large tumor encases all major arteries and vessels. Well her tumor is now in a way that her surgeon feels if we can get the small ones to die , that he can operate!! So she now has appointments for radiation therapy with Y90. If this works, then hopefully a resection. She was totally unresectable at first and others on here have been told that too only to later become resectable. I don’t know what the future holds but I do know one thing. We never give up hope. No matter how bad it looks, things can turn around and miracles do occur. Please find a fighting spirit. It’s really the only thing you have. I will pray for you and your husband. Just remember to never give up.

    Love, -Pam

    Hi Jeff,

I feel like I already know you after your introduction. You sure do add some spice to this site!! I like your zest for life and that you want to live life to the fullest, not being sickly and a burden. At least, that is the way I took your post. I know my daughter, Lauren, wants to live her life to the fullest, and she would not be happy lying in a bed every day. You are a special man and I wish you all the best. I look forward to reading future posts from you. Take care and God bless.

    Hi Les,

I’m glad you could finally post your introduction. Your Sarah is my age. My daughter, Lauren, only 26 is the one with CC. I’m sorry to hear Sarah is not feeling well, but I think she is in the best place in MDA. I hope they can give her all the help she needs. I don’t have personal experience with the problems you are facing, but there are so may caring people on this site that can give you advice. I’m sure they will be chiming in soon. This disease is so rare that it is such a blessing to have this website. We are all like a family and care so much about each other. I am constantly blown away by the outpouring of care and love I receive from this site and I know you will appreciate it as well. I hope the doctors work their magic and your wife begins to improve. God bless you and Sarah.

    Hi Tiff,

I haven’t asked about neulasta. She is not on the Cisplatin at this time and he thinks that was the chemo that was making her platelets go down. So he doesn’t think she will have that problem while not on the Cisplatin. He wanted to give her a break from that chemo because it is really hard on her. He is considering adding Oxaliplatin if her tumors don’t remain stable on her current chemo. He said it is the cousin of Cisplatin, but I’m not sure if it is less hard on a person or what. I just have to believe they know what is best. I do ask a lot of questions and I wonder if they find me annoying. Oh well, I just read a lot and always have questions about why they are doing things a certain way. As for Kim, as the time gets closer for the procedure, I’m sure I will talk to Kim about it. I know that she lives to help people. Well take care, Tiff. I swear I have been writing to you on different topics all night!!

    Love you, -Pam
