    Lainey,
I’m glad to hear you have no pain from the UC. Hoping the Remicaid helps. Best to you with the infusions. Your daughter sounds like a great support and a trooper (the apple fell close to the tree)! Willow

    Gavin,
Im curious that youve never tried artichokes… Are artichokes not grown or avail in Scotland? I live near a major growing area along the northern CA coast so grew up eating them. if you do try to cook a fresh artichoke, google directions because they take longer than you’d think to steam. Lisas recipe sounds great! And definitely tastes good dipping leaves in lemon garlic butter, lemon mayonnaise or balsamic dressing as Lisa mentioned. Theyre good grilled too. Although I love preserved marinated artichokes too, they taste different than fresh.

Lisa, that sounds delish! When you steam them they’re in a colander right (not right in the water)? I LOVE artichokes any way shape or form. Never heard of stuffing them!

    Peggy,
I’m sorry I didn’t see your update till after I posted asking how your brother is doing. That’s great to hear he’s getting the jaundice under control with the stents and will be moving forward with treatments soon. I’m sure it seems like an eternity and you all can’t start soon enough. Best wishes to you and your brother.

    Peggy,
How frustrating for your brother to have this infection and delay to chemo. How is he doing now?

    Bob and Nancy,
Love, strength and prayers to you both and to Jeff. He really is amazing… Clearly your and his employers support are too. I am grateful to hear he is not on much discomfort. Let us know if you find the lambs blanket Lainey spoke of and if it helps Jeff.
    Sincerely,
    Willow

    Mark,
That is so encouraging to hear that the Folfox and radiation have helped dramatically. Thanks for the update!

    Holly,
You sound great! Thanks for posting your thoughts and status. The Y-90 does show success though couldn’t help the tumors outside the liver so that’s where the chemo is needed. Nice to see a good response to Xeloda alone. My sis was worried it wasn’t “strong enough” by itself. Meanwhile her blood counts have stayed stable. 2weeks on and one week off, with side effects worst on recovery week. Nausea for 1-2 nights with flu like fatigue for those days. Then she feels good most of the time and carries on with life as usual. I’m really happy to hear you don’t have to take any chemo for now and things look so good for you. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Wow, Kris, you definitely have been on a crazy journey though it sounds like things have gone fairly well for your husband so far (aside from the infection). That really is a lot to deal with your sons cancer at the same time. There is hope and as a nurse, you know at the very least that most thyroid cancers are curable. Still, till one walks in your shies, there’s no way to know what your family is dealing with emotionally as well as physically and let’s face it, logistically. Hang in there.

    Hello Danna,
I just want to welcome you and lift your spirits as you navigate this thing called CC. Youre braver than you know and won’t regret coming out of the shadows to introduce yourself to these loving, smart, supportive people here on this site. It bothers me deeply (understatement!) that you are so young and have a baby and have to fight this. My sister has CC and a 9 year old boy. She is doing quite well despite having stage 4 Intrahepatic CC. Have heard from people on this site great things about Dr Javle. With your good attitude, the joy of being a Mommy and your healthy habits, you can really make a difference in your health and well being! Tiffany is another amazing example of a young mom who has come so far managing CC and a family. Glad you’re tolerating the Gem-Cis well! One step at a time…

    Jeff,
Wow, you can write and express yourself so profoundly! You put into words what so many are experiencing. This should run in the New York Times. What amazing insight and perspective.
