Anne Glenister Crowe

Anne Glenister Crowe

June 17 1967 – October 2, 2015

Anne Glenister Crowe, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2015, at her home in Sunnyvale, CA.

During her brief 48 years, Anne touched the lives of so many. Friends and family will cherish memories of Anne’s kindred, uplifting and giving nature. We celebrate her kindness and positivity and will long remember the joy she brought to others, her beauty and laughter.

One of Anne’s greatest pleasures has been globetrotting with Roderic Crowe whom she married on December 27, 2002. Together they traveled to some of the most exotic places in the world, discovering new cultures, making new friends. In addition to traveling with her husband, she loved exploring, hiking, dancing, wine tasting, animals, reading and celebrating life and every holiday with friends and family.

Anne earned her undergraduate degree at UC Santa Barbara, and was awarded a Masters in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco. She was a business manager at UCSF, UC Berkeley and also served in the private sector prior to her tenure at Stanford University where she was the Business and Administrative Director of the Stanford Medical Center’s Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics (SCBE), whose mission is to carry out research, teach and serve the community.

Her colleagues lovingly remember her for her inspirational spirit. Stanford University School of Medicine awarded her The Anne Glenister Crowe Spirit Award in 2013.

The family holds a special place in their hearts for Roderic who became her biggest health advocate and caregiver, along with his mother Linda Crowe, after her cancer diagnosis in 2013. In addition to Roderic, Anne leaves behind her mother Jill Glenister, father John Glenister and stepmother Lisa Glenister, brothers Peter, Chris, Rodney, David, Mark and Brian Glenister and their families. Her immediate family resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with roots and extended family in Australia, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Services will be held at Stanford Memorial Church on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 10 am. Anne regularly attended the North Valley Baptist Church of Santa Clara. The Eulogy will be delivered by Pastor Brent Strouf. The service will be officiated by Reverend Jane Shaw, Stanford University Dean of Religious Life.
