Laurel Whitney Mason Clary
July 25, 1986 – April 2, 2022
It’s with great sadness that our family shares the passing of Laurel Whitney Mason Clary.
Our angel earned her wings after a brave and hard fought battle with cholangiocarcinoma. Due to complications from her treatment, we lost her suddenly on Saturday, April 2nd at the age of 35.
Since her diagnosis in December 2018, Laurel fought with unparalleled dignity and grace. She was not only a true warrior for herself, but for her fellow “cholangio warrior” community. To them she was a hero – always championing their cause and lifting their fighting spirits.
Throughout her journey, Laurel never let her circumstances stop her from living life to the fullest. She was passionate about her career, working her way up to Director of Operations at Biotium, where she worked for the last twelve years. Laurel was a “go-getter” and nothing was going to stop her from being her best self. She carried that attitude in everything she did.
Every goal Laurel set, she conquered. She lived with passion, she nurtured with love, and always had a curiosity for learning. Some of her passions were a love for turning something old into something new, horticulture, being the best auntie, and her sweet kitties, who were her babies.
But most importantly, in 2019, Laurel found the love of her life, Patrick. The two of them started building a life together in the city they loved, Livermore, and married in January 2022. What gives her loved ones peace is knowing that Laurel felt that these last years with Patrick were the best years of her life.
It’s going to be hard to imagine life without our Laurel. She was one of a kind and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
