SpectatorJoanne,
If it turns out that even after other opinions are weighed that there is no treatment, you still have time to create precious memories. Time gets compressed at times like this and it’s value becomes clear. I’m sure you and your mom will use it well.God Bless,

SpectatorRick,
Add my prayers to all of the others. May God intervene on your behalf.Grace and Peace,

SpectatorDear Beth,
Well… this big old tough man got his tear ducts flushed good this morning reading your latest post. I’ve been following your caring bridge postings for a while and like you have been bouyed with hope from time to time and then had hope dashed another time. For some strange reason (perhaps because I’ve been praying for him), I’ve felt a connection to Dave and believed he would be one of the ones to beat this. I’m sure I would love to know Dave – he sounds like a ‘salt of the earth’ kind of man that guys like hanging out with. Though his current prognosis isn’t good, God is not finished with him and I will continue to pray…Grace and Peace to the Graff family,

SpectatorHi Sue,
Congratulations! Thanks for posting your great story – good news is always welcome but in light of the recent sad news we’ve gotten here your news provided a much needed lift. I pray that God will give you a clean scan in April and many to come.Grace and Peace,

SpectatorJen,
Thanks for your post. It was so well said. As others, I was moved as I read through it. It’s obvious that this cancer will not beat your Dad. It may yet take his life but he has already beaten it by his response.Grace and Peace,

SpectatorHi Susan,
What a great story. I too am a papa with a new grandchild – a grandaughter born Dec. 11. I know of Randy’s great joy and love for Jonathan James. Thank you God for blessing Randy and his family with this gift from heaven. God is good. May His grace and mercy multiply to you.bob

SpectatorHi Tom,
It’s so good to hear that Ben is responding to chemo. As you said, chemo isn’t always effective. Ben is certainly one of the fortunate ones. His choice to ‘live with cancer’ is the best way to fight back. Weeks can turn into months and months to years…God Bless!

SpectatorHi Cindy,
Yes, you are right – the statistics are awful. But your mother is more than a statistic. Just because others haven’t responded to chemo doesn’t mean that your mother won’t. Many have responded to chemo and there have been a few on this site who have years of success with only chemo. It can happen – and it could happen for your mother. As has been said many times here, no one has a time stamp on their backside…Please continue to bring your questions and concerns here. We know what you are going through.
Blessings on you and your family,

SpectatorWhoo Hoooo! Atta boy girl…

SpectatorHi Lots,
I agree with Lainy – get a second opinion. If the cancer hasn’t metastisised (sp.?) I think it is too early to say that there is no treatment. Treatment does rarely but occasionally cure but often extends life.It sounds like you are describing a Klatskin tumor. I had one successfully resected 14 years ago. May God give you clear direction.
Grace and Peace,

SpectatorThanks for posting Rick. I’ve been wondering about you recently. I am sorry that the news isn’t the best. I pray that God will continue to give you cause for hope.
God Bless!

SpectatorMary,
Thanks for giving me a good laugh. Regarding your comment about your father, there is an old joke that goes like this: “I’d like to be able to peacfully die in my sleep like my Grandfather did unlike the screaming passengers in his car.”Grace and Peace to all,

SpectatorKathy,
On Dec. 18 I celebrated 14 years of being cancer free. My onc. though pleased wasn’t very impressed at 5 years but at 10 years said he considered me to be “cured”. The reason is that CC can be very slow growing. I pray that God will continue to give you cause for hope.God Bless,

SpectatorKathy,
Praying for continued good recovery. Don’t let the possibility of a recurrance ‘tomorrow’ rob you of ‘today’.God Bless,

SpectatorAs others have said, it sounds like cholangitis and needs to be treated with antibiotics asap. I have been having recurring episodes for a 1-1/2 years and now keep antibiotics with me. The minute I have symptoms I take an antibiotic and watch for spiking temperature, rigors (uncontrollable chills), nausea and dropping blood pressure. If symptoms worsen I get to the ER quickly.
God Bless,
