Atta boy girl! I like the feeling good, no pain and stopping the weight loss part of your post. And beating the prognosis is a victory in itself. Keep up the fight and continue to live well.

As others have expressed, I am personally saddened. I feel like I know Kris. The way she stubbornly, courageously fought her battle has been an inspiration to all on this forum. She will be missed…

Grace and Peace to all on this difficult day,

    Hi Andie,
When I had a tube it was exchanged every 6-8 weeks like Betsy and I flushed it daily to keep it clear. The procedure took an hour or so and rarely required hospitalization afterward. Hope there is a good solution for your Dad.

    Dear Beth,
Much of this news breaks my heart for you and your amazing family. But I’m not giving up on my end. I’ll continue to pray that the docs are wrong about the liver functions. Dave was essentially given up on once and proved the experts wrong. Dave is indeed a strong individual but I’m sure much of his strength comes from you and his family. May God grant all of you strength to fight this evil disease as long as you are supposed to.

    Suzq,
You are a confidence builder for others on this forum as well. Kudos to you for being a five year survivor while continuing to battle cancer. Your daughter must be very proud of her courageous mother.

    God Bless!

    Hi Beth,
I too have been following the caringbridge postings. Just reading of the ups and downs is exhausting. The strength exhibited by you and Dave and your family is not short of heroic. Love of family and friends is the closest thing to the power of God and combined I believe they will get the Graff family through this and give Dave an amazing story of survival. Continuing to pray…

    Great news! Keep it coming…

As far as the new ‘coiffure’, there may be a rock band needing a new lead singer. Just thinking…

    Curt,
Allow me to also offer you a welcome to the CC family. This forum offers a wealth of experience and information found nowhere else. Inquiries are of course welcome but venting if needed is as well. Praying that the coming CT scan shows good results.

    Hi Carollynn,
Early detection and surgery seem to be the only way to beat this evil cancer so your mother was very fortunate. And Mayo appears to be the expert with bile duct cancer – again very fortunate. May God continue to be present in your mother’s care and may He grant her peace in the middle of the storm.

    God Bless!

    Julie,
The shrinkage of tumors is always good news. And you coming to the place of choosing to live with the cancer, putting it all in God’s hands and connecting with a loving support group is even better news. Keep it up.

    God Bless!

    Hi Pam,
I’ve experienced probably twenty or more cholangitis episodes in the last year – most required hospitalization. We’ve talked about the possibilty of taking a lower dose of antibiotics continuously by cycling between three different meds to avoid the bacteria from becoming resistant. But the docs are not ready to do that yet. They fear that I could get a bug which will not respond to the available meds. So I keep antibiotics (ceftin) with me to take the minute I feel something coming on. Sometimes I can nip it in the bud and avoid the hospital but I contact my onc and let him know what is going on. I keep close track of temp. and bp – if temp starts to spike or my bp starts to drop, we get to the hospital quickly. What was the reason given by the other doc for discontinuing the antibiotic? I pray that you can make the right decision.

    God Bless!
