You have successfully crossed another road block and it’s “all systems go” for surgery on the 4th – well done. Know that positive thoughts are coming your way from across the pond.Gerry
PS : I have a few scars myself a tattoo could sort out – l’m loving that idea.

I also wish to welcome you to this forum. You will finds lots of support here. As I understand it, the fact that the tumour is located in the Ampulla would not in itself prohibit the resection. Perhaps there is another reason why your medical team have decided not to proceed – has the cancer spread or is it located too close to important arteries? I would suggest you get more details from your medical team and get a 2nd opinion. Please come back often and keep us updated.Gerry

That’s good news so far and thanks for the update. I had a whipples 2 years ago – after surgery I spent 1 day in ICU and then stepped down to the ward. Don’t be surprised if your step mum is sitting up within a day or two and you may have her home in a week to 10 days (all going well).Good luck and please keep us posted on progress – you are both in our thoughts in this struggle.

I feel for you at this diffiicult time when hard decisions need to be made. Hospice care is best at managing pain and not just improving quality of life but prolonging it and given the advice of the Oncologist, your Mum may be persuaded to look any at this option again.Gerry

Amazing news……..congrats to both of you.
