    Thanks Snezzie,

My parents live in Florida and Dad had all his treatment at Shands hospital in Gainesville, Fl. I spent much of last summer over in Fl supporting my Mum through Dad’s surgery and then his passing…

Hope you get to Bolton, sure you’ll be surprised at the changes. Once again wishing you strength on your journey with cc….

    Hi Snezzie,

Please can I join everyone in welcoming you to a wonderfully supportive, informative site. Here you will hopefully find the knowledge and advise to enable you along with your doctors to make the choices and decisions right for you.

Unfortunately, I do not have anything further to add, my Dad had an intrahepatic cc that was unsucessfully resected last year….

    Wishing you all the best,

    Katie

    Hello Laura,

Please let me welcome you to our ‘family’. Sorry you have had to find us and sorry for your Mum’s diagnosis. This has a huge impact on the patient and their family whatever path of treatment is followed.

My Dad was diagnosed May 2009 and had a resection end of June 2009 but sadly it was unsucessful and he died 9 days later……..

I didnt join the board until August but have had a tremendous amount of support and friendship which I know you will too. Everyone is very welcoming and knowledgable in different areas.

I’m sorry I cannot help on the ascites/abdominal swelling but I do know if you put that into the search engine at the top of the page plenty of other posts will come up that cover that.

Good Luck as you and your MUm continue her journey along this path….

May I ask which hospital she is being treated in? I live in England but my Dad’s treatment was at Shands hospital in Gainesville Fl.

Please come back and let us know how your Mum is.

    Dear Dads daughter,

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Dad. I know the pain you are feeling, I held my Dad nearly a year ago as he took his last breathe, so incredibly painful…..

Like Lainy has said your Dad will forever be with you, in everything you do.

Thinking of you and your family in the days and weeks to come.

    Dear Matilda,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Dad, but I am so pleased that you were able to visit him in the hospice. I remember your fears….

I think when the end comes so soon after diagnosis it is difficult to process, for me my Dad died 7 weeks after we found out he had cc.

Your Dad will be with you forever, deep in your heart and your memories.

    Sending comfort to you,

    Katie

    Jolene,

What truly lovely, heartfelt words. I never ‘knew’ Jeff but he has left a legacy on here. His name being mentioned often. What a tribute to his family.

    Hi Dianne,

I think from what I have read on other posts on here that reports of chills are quite common.

Has your Dad got a fever associated with the chills? It may be an infection… I think if they continue he should call his doctor for advice.

You could try putting ‘chills’ in the search engine at the top of the page.

    Hope you get some answers,

    Katie

    Hi Kris,

How very frustrated and angry you must be feeling and rightly so….

Nothing more to add towhat everyone else has said but fingers crossed for you the radiation is able to happen in Kalmar and soon!
