Hi Nancy,
Dad had a reoccurence of CC in August after almost 2 years. He received Gemcitabin/Cisplatin for 6 cycles. Significantly shrunk tumor. 35days of radiation followed. Now he is having 6 more cycles of Gemcitabin/Cisplatin. PET scan will be at the end of January. He feels horrible days 4 & 5 after chemo but other than that side effects have been managable.
Good luck! I am sure you will do great!
kayMemberKris,
Dad is on Cisplatin and Gemzar also. 2 weeks on, 1 off.
xo
kaykayMemberWould the cancer be spreading during this intense chemo????? It was so tiny to begin with???
kayMemberThank you so much for all the great posts. I dont know what I would do without all of your knowledge
god bless
oxoxkayMemberElizabeth,
Welcome. Dad started chemo about a week ago. Only has minor fatigue. He is running around like normal.
xoxoxo
kayMemberHe is taking Gemzar and Cisplatin.
kayMemberThank you all for all of the great information!!!
kayMemberThanks for all the great replys.
Dads CT came back and they see nothing. They did say his lymph nodes looked a little swollen but werent concerned because of the countless reasons that could happen. They are sending him for a PET scan and more blood work Friday. So we still know nothing.

kayMemberCongrats on a successful surgery! Dad did not have the whipple procedure but did have his gallbladder removed. It took him a while to adjust but pretty much eats everything he did before now. Recovery is tough but it sounds like you are doing well. Again congrats!!
kayMemberThank you all for some great hope!! Dads MRI is on Friday and PET scan is on Monday. Although, his follow up appointment is not until the second week of January. I am very surprised they are going to make him stress like this over the holidays. I would think they would call him if something was wrong.
Elaine that is great!!! You know I kinda remeber that my dads tumor marker went totally out of whack one month and then it came back down to normal.
Lots of love and prayers to everyone and their loved ones.
kayMemberTHank you for your nice replies. What are the odds of this cancer returning? Everyday I live in fear as does the rest of the family. Its is like we are just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Isnt that horrible.
Lainey – He had the tumor in his bile duct removed, gall bladder removed, and 30% of his liver. The surgeon was able to leave the tiniest bit of his bile duct to reconnect. The cancer had not spread any further not in his lymph nodes either. It sounds like your husband is doing good from the whipple procedure. god bless!
