Dear Jess, so happy to hear from you and even happier that you are doing so well. You bring so much hope to everyone here. You are so right that we have to trust our gut feeling and we learn in time that knowledge is the best tool we have for fighting this CC. The very best to you and yours!

Gee wiz, Julie, what the heck?! Maybe you should have been drinking something very strong! Glad the fever is coming down. I agree that you should run in to just have them see what it could be. I am beginning to think “if it is there, you will find it”. SO, time to get rid of all the “its”. I wish I had a magic want to waver over you and make it all go away! Thinking of you all the time.

Dear Bob, your post sounds very promising and we sure would love to see that shrinkage word in January! Keep on being hopeful and optimistic as it really helps in getting rid of this CC! SO glad to hear as well that you are tolerating the chemo. Great post and looking for more good news after the scan!

Hi Julie. You had called the shots long ago and I hope that in a day or 2 you won’t even know it is there. A good thing Kathleen is such a wonderful DIL and will help so much for Christmas. I wish it was already Saturday night as I know for sure what your best RX is. It is called Robert&Colin!!!

Dear Joviony, this is good news. Very often a surgeon will say that they cannot truly see what is going on ‘inside’ until they see it first hand. My husband had a Whipple Surgery and they cut the head of the Pancreas to make sure nothing had penetrated, so this is good news for your wife. I know it all seems so slow to get to where one needs to be but it is a situation where things need to be ruled out and the more the better. Looking for more good news to read about your dear wife.

Dear Billy, Never apologize for writing us anything! It DOES help think things out on this Board. Besides, writing is very cathartic. I think the important thing to remember is that you do have options and soon, hopefully you will have some answers that will help steer you in the right direction. You are with excellent Doctors! We LOVE the shrinkage word and I want to wish you continued success on your progress.

Dear Lynn, I am so very sorry to read what the 2 of you are going through. The strength you both are having is phenomenal. My biggest wish is for Greg to see his boys for Christmas. It sounds like you have great Doctors and your Hospice set up is really wonderful. I am also hoping that the trials ease up and it becomes more comfortable for Greg. I can’t say to stay strong as I don’t see how anyone human could be any stronger. Bless you both and know that way across the miles you are being thought of often.

Dear Joviony, welcome to our remarkable family and the best place to be for CC support! I am so sorry to hear about your wife but it sounds like she is in good care and on the right track. Now the boxing gloves come out and also let the positive attitudes prevail as they are so important in this fight. Please keep us updated on your wife’s progress as we truly care!

Thank you for the update, Joe and glad your Mother is home. Have a wonderful family Christmas and I am sure that will be the best RX she could have right now!

Nancy, I forgot to mention that by logging the visits it really helped to read them when I was feeling down. I even copied them off the Computer when I got to 128 (over 6 years) as I didn’t want to ever loose them.
BTW Mel who is my mate so to speak, now, really believes that Teddy and his wife Jacquey put us together. They were our first friends when we moved here 22 years ago and we had not seen each other in 15 years. She “relocated” a year ago and we have been together now for 8 months. I digress! Jacquey and Teddy were frequent visitors and now we barely hear from them anymore. Mmmmm Guess they feel they did a good job? The nice thing is we all knew each other and can talk to our hearts content about each one! YES, life is for the living and the lesson I have learned is just when you think you can never love like before you find out there is still room for more in your heart.

Dear Positivity, where is your Mom being treated and is the Doctor an Oncologist VERY experienced with CC? CC is still so new that many in the medical profession have not even heard of it. The key is to be with an experienced Oncologist. We have come a long way since my husband had CC over 10 years ago. There is research being done and new trials coming along all the time. There is no reason for your Mom to not be getting good treatments. I think you mentioned before that she is seeing a GI or a GP and she really needs an Oncologist. Best wishes to you and your Mom.

Hi, Sirena, so sorry to read about your Mom. My Teddy also had CC go to the Duodenum but the DUO was removed with his Whipple surgery. Has your Mom sought out other opinions on treatments? Hoping for the best for Mom and for you!

Dear April, welcome to our remarkable family and the best place to be for CC support. Please remember some very important things you have mentioned: You are at one of the top treatment centers there is for CC at MDA. You have age on your side and yes, you have put on your pink boxing gloves for your beautiful family. I am so very sorry for all you have gone through but your attitude will get you far.
Had to chuckle when you said you exercise as I can’t imagine any more exercise than chasing after 3 munchkins.
Congratulations on the shrinkage as shrinkage is one of our favorite words. We will also be looking forward to your next scan results! Love your name, April as that is my birth month!
Below is a site you may find helpful and please keep us updated on your progress as we truly care. BTW writing things out as you did can be very cathartic.

Dear Spokane Mom, Bravo for your Doctor to tell you to get an opinion elsewhere! MDA in Houston is tops as well as Mayo in Rochester, MN. Either place is quite experienced with CC. The most important thing is the experience. I am glad your husband is feeling better and wish you all the very best.
