Yeah, ditto me in. I wrote a letter to the Peyton Foundation a month ago and never heard back. I am convinced that we need to open a door. What that will be has not popped in to my mind yet. I feel there are enough marathons, golf tournaments auctions, raffles. It has to be something that will make everyone sit up and take notice. I am thinking, I am thinking. Something so out of the ordinary. Like, a 3 day CC cruise to “nowhere” with a big title. Its like on the tip of my brain but maybe thats the part of my brain thats sleeping!!!!

Moon, do not be afraid. We are very active seniors, we live life to the fullest.
One cannot be so afraid to live that they give up mentally on life. Just be watchful. Sounds like Tom has a pretty good prognosis.

Unfortunately the only thing we know for sure about CC is that it does return.
That is why keeping a watchful eye is paramount. Teddy has LAB work every month and sees the Oncologist every other month because to catch it quickly is the key. In the meantime he is feeling great and golfing more. These are the days we live for and enjoy. We always remain optimistically realistic.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAM. I think you DID get a BIG Birthday gift as you got to spend the day with your mom! No matter the condition, you were together. Perhaps subconsciously it was not a good day for her as she knew she didn’t sing to you. But being with her was the frosting on the cake.

Hi Carol and Leonard. Teddy, 3 1/2 years ago had a Whipple Surgery. The cancer was in his bile duct valve. Fortunately it was contained but as we know it returns. Last April it returned where his duodenum used to be. For his particular type of bile duct cancer chemo will not work. He had radiation to reduce the tumor last summer and in December he had Cyber Knife. I highly recommend it, 3 sessions and you are done. The problem is it cannot be used on everything. Look up Cyber Knife on the Internet, fascinating. The gold “rods” were placed around the mass to guide the cyber knife. There are 4 of them and like I tell Teddy now, he is worth his weight in gold as they will be with him forever. The rods are injected and all was painless. Cyber Knife started out as a procedure for brain cancer only but they are now using it on more places. Yes, Carol, this web site has brought us together from all over the world. That’s a wonderful thing. I posted yesterday that no matter where we travel we can now find a friend.

Hi Kid. I cannot express how much I think of you. When you started this horrible journey you didn’t know if you could get through it and just look at you now. I have tears for you and your family as I read your notes. You are so special and as much as you are daddy’s girl, he is so lucky to have a daughter like you. We hope you are having some warmer weather so you can all enjoy the outside. Yes, today WILL be a good day. Our prayers, thoughts and hugs are going out to you and your family.

Hi Kris, and sorry to hear about the delay. When you talk to the liver today you can threaten it with some onions! Hope you get much better news very soon.
Don’t these body parts know they need to listen to us?

We love it! Great news. Yes, I wish they would come up with another word to describe our CC patients other than “lucky”. We will have to work on a come back! Great news though.

Hi Jen and welcome to the best little club in the world that no one wishes to join. My husband has not had chemo, only radiation and cyber knife but our daughter’s fiance has Lymphoma and along with chemo he has been going through a regime of Vitamin C intravenously. Massive doses. The Vitamin C has not only kept him feeling good but he had no adverse affects from the chemo at all. You may want to ask the doctor about Vitamin C in strong doses.

How sad I am to hear of your mother-in-laws passing. How lucky you were to have such a wonderful mother-in-law. How many people can ever say that. I truly believe that such a wonderful person never leaves her children behind as she will always be in your fondest memories and in you heart. Mom’s always watch over their children, only her house has changed. Please accept our sincerest prayers for you and your family.
