SpectatorNot sure about the gas (and they say there is such a shortage??? sorry couldn’t resist) but for heartburn Teddy swears by Brioschi (blue bottle) at Walgreens. Helps where nothing else has. Also Mylenta has been a godsend.
Good luck!lainy
SpectatorJeff, we are so pulling for you. In fact I think I will go buy a cheerleader uniform!
Yeah, that could work!!!!!!! NOT! This lady claims the doctor wanted to do chemo and she declined. This COQ10 supposedly eats away at tumors. But, I like you, feel the world would know about it!! I talked with Teddy’s radiation nurse yesterday about his itching from radiation and she suggested over the counter cream with cortizone. It seems to be helping. His energy is returning as well as his appetite. Next is the kidney tube surgery Oct 14th then the PET Scan on the 27th. Know what? I find that the best remedy for the blues and the feeling like I want the world to stop is a sense of humor. It sure helps. Oddly, but true. Which makes me truly odd!lainy
SpectatorPeter thank you for all those wonderful pictures you posted!!! I got hungry, earned for snow, wanted to visit a Market and I must say the scenes should all be framed. Thank-you! I feel you will make all the right decisions about yourself, somehow we always do.

SpectatorThank you so much. Jean, and yes, where it is the worst on the back correlates to the “spot” on the front where they did the deed. I also notice on the back that it is darker than the rest of his back. I am calling the ONC this morning as I do want to know LAB results. But I felt better after reading your post.

SpectatorThats a great tip! Do you use it dry or combined with little water?

SpectatorI just posted you under your “other” letter and after seeing this wanted to say Congratulations on your daughter’s wedding. I guess this is life, checks and balances, good vs. bad! The wedding sounds beautiful and by the way if you can “grin” in your posts you are doing well under the circumstances.

SpectatorHello Jan, and unfortunately welcome! As a Caretaker, I can only suggest a couple of “releases” as you really need to let go a little and perhaps it will help the numbness, although I do think there are times we go numb so that we can handle all that we need to do. I get in the car and when going somewhere I let out a few screams. Loud ones. I also play loud, lively music I from Mama Mia!
I sing out loud and it feels good. One last thing is I force myself to go on a girl’s night out and once out with my friends I do feel a little better. Who would have thought that me, afraid of pulling out my kid’s slivers when they were little, would be changing bile duct bags and wound covers!!! Keep your posts coming as it is a good outlet here and our thoughts are with you and your family!lainy
SpectatorWe are so very sorry to hear of John’s passing but at the same time content with the fact he did not suffer too greatly. John is still with you in your heart and memories. Prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family.

SpectatorI have been collecting patient and caregiver letters to send to the Oprah Show.
It is one way of trying to get cholangiocarcinoma out in the open and eventually raise funding for research on testing and who knows, perhaps some day a cure. I have received 34 letters and was going to mail them this afternoon. If you like I can wait until I get your letter today to add to the bunch. Welcome to our group. -
