We are so very sad for you. Its just more than a human should have to bare.
It has brought to mind something that perhaps we should all think about who belong to our elite group.
Has anyone thought about a fund set up by donations and managed by someone we all choose, to help in situations like yours? While we donate what we can to aid Cancer research what about those of us living this life now? You are not the first and sadly not that last who will have a problem in this manner.
The fund could be only for our organization and sadly for cases like this. Maybe I am stretching my brain but I feel so helpless. In the meantime our thoughts and prayers go with you. I always tell my kids when things are at the lowest some miracle happens to turn them around. They tell me I am right, so hope I am right with you!lainySpectatorOur thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!
lainySpectatorCharlene, John does know how much he is loved and we wish for him a comfortable journey and for you to pull on all that strength you have shown through the whole nightmare. May you both find that peace you deserve and know in your hearts that he will not be gone but is only leaving the room. You have a lot of people here sending their thoughts your way.
lainySpectatorAll the best in the world to you, Irene. My husbands CC is not in the liver so cannot help you there but I found that for both of us a positive attitude is the best medicine. I always hope for the best along with my reality check of expecting the worst. These are all terrible things to say to someone on their stage “debut” but I also think we all really want to know what to expect. You are in our prayers for a fabulous outcome and a speedy recovery!!
lainySpectatorJeff you are something else and here you go taking it to the limit one more time!!!!!!! After completing your issues for EFT how about creating a JEFF attitude pill that we can all take! Pretend your issues are tissues and toss them!
lainySpectatorNow that’s what we’re talking about!!!!!!!!!!! Go team! Wonderful news. Thank you for sharing it with us!!!
lainySpectatorCarol, believe it or not when you make me chuckle that is a BIG help!!! I was thinking about the Caregivers as well. I am thinking also that some kind of buddy system (if someone wants it)would be nice. Like I know that there are maybe 4 in the area of Phoenix who have come on this site. We are a rare breed in more ways than on, yes?
lainySpectatorOh boy oh boy, its not easy is it Marion? I get a release as I work from the house as a travel consultant so 6 hours a day I am at my desk but can still do what I need to do in the house. Sometimes I just want to scream. After trying to communicate with 4 doctors and getting them to communicate with each other and then sometimes I do feel myself getting a tad short with Teddy. We are both short enough already…in stature. I get in the car, drive to the store and scream a little in the car, it really helps. I also started a girls night out. There are 8 of us and we go out one night a month taking turns as hostess. I try to busy myself in the yard. It all works good for awhile and that is the break we need. This morning I decided to go for a massage. The hard part is doing some things and not feeling guilty about it!!! If we don’t take care of ourselves who will take care of our most precious ones?
lainySpectatorHi Sophie! So do all these pictures mean you are a movie star? Since Teddy’s Whipple he has had a scan every 3 months and an MRI once a year. He saw the ONC every 3 months and just before each visit total LAB work. Not sure what the regime will be when this radiation is over. Hopefully it will be successful and we will return to the natural order of things!
lainySpectatorDearest Patti, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your mother was very lucky to have you through this terrible journey. As you were a wonderful daughter I am confident you will also be a fabulous Auntie! Our deepest sympathies to your entire family. The babies are here for a reason now and I think it is for lots of hugs! Stay with us please, we need you too.
lainySpectatorHi Rick, we are not ignoring your question, still thinking. Not sure how it would be done but how about dividing in to diagnosis areas but all related to CC.
Like a site for those affected with Liver CC, one for Whipple, one for Pancreas.
In other words the major parts connected with CC. How about a site for suggested reading material. The problem is people want to all come together and “talk” together as there is a need to be among many so the site doesn’t always work the way it should. You already have nutrition and chemo but they are posted mostly in Experiences. So maybe experiences needs to be broken down in to the subjects. I am rambling but trying to help. IF I think of anything else will let you know.lainySpectatorWe will hold you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
lainySpectatorCongratulations on your “anniversary”. What wonderful news. I believe good news is always needed and received warmly around here! Teddy has gone 3 years now since his Whipple so what we are going through now we term a bump in the road. We will patch it, watch it and keep driving, although he prefers driving at the golf course! Yeah, keep up the good news!!
lainySpectatorTeddy can join the overweight club. His whole life was about eating, thats what Sicilians do!! Lots of pasta! Now he has trimmed down although we don’t like the way it was done! He also is a Korean Vet and there are come thoughts about a fish in Asia that lets of a virus that could cause this. Not proven yet, just talked about. When he was diagnosed 3 years ago the doctor siad it is just a toss of the dice? So are you gamblers too??????? (sorry could not resist that one)
lainySpectatorOur thoughts and prayers go out to Barb’s Family. She sounded like a wonderful lady, very courageous and with a great sense of humor. She will be missed but we are so honored that we had the opportunity to meet her on our site. Our prayers are with your family.
