    Hi mafoster,

I took compazine and Ativan for nausea and it worked great, zofran did not work for me.
The only pain med that gave me relief was dilaudid.
I still take Ativan for anxiety.

    Mafoster,
Welcome to this site and a beautiful family of supporters. I was diagnosed with Stage IV in September 2010. The people here are amazing and I don’t know how I could get through this without them.

    Susie,
I will pray for you and good scan results. I had a scan last week and was so nervous and I got good results. I thought I would be shouting with joy but the psychological piece of cancer plays tricks with your mind. I have had bad news for so long that I am not sure how to grasp this good news…I want it to last forever. I’m so very grateful for each day of life…just need to start living it again.
    Peace, Lisa

    Hi Bob and Nancy,

Praying for little to no side effects . I have taken the Oxilplatin and 5FU, which is infusion form of Xeloda and the side effects weren’t bad at all. I was tired a lot and didn’t have a great appetite, some nausea but nothing a little anti-nausea medicine couldn’t handle. My hair thinned but I did not lose it. I thought Cleveland traffic was bad…I’m betting it is nothing compared to LA. Good luck with second opinion.

    Hi Bruce,
I have had two liver resections at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation by Dr. John Fung. When it came to chemo I wanted a second opinion and emailed Dr. Javle. He requested my records from the Cleveland Clinic be sent to him and he reviewed them and agreed that I was on the right chemo drugs.

    Dianne,
I was diagnosed with Stage IV CC and have had two resections, one the summer of 2010 and another in the fall of 2011. Both were done by Dr. John Fung of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Fung was a liver surgeon at Pittsburgh for years. He is one of my Facebook friends, maybe you could connect with him for some advise about Pittsburgh.

    Kathy,
Good Luck with hernia surgery. I need a couple more clean scans before they will surgically repair mine which is also on the incisional line. Mine seems to get bigger and protrude more at night, they gave me a binder to wear but it is so unattractive under clothes I have avoided it………will be praying for you on the 16th.

Marion, our youngest son, Noah, is a freshman at Archbishop Hoban High School and he is our soccer player. Our oldest son, Jake, finished up two years of pre-med at The University of Cincinnati in the Spring and then announced he needed a break from school and was going to move to NYC to try modeling. Prior to cancer, this news would have put me over the edge. Cancer has changed my life, if my children are happy, healthy and believe in God, then I am fine with their decisions. Please pray he finds a job ! He came home last weekend to run in the Akron Marathon for our fundraiser and everyone commented on how happy he looked. My husband laughed and said, of course he looks good….living in NYC, running, biking, enjoying life and not working ! Hehehe
