Evan…I am writing on behalf of Peter. He will undergo a procedure on Wednesday with the hope that he can digest food as he is tired and has lost quite a bit of weight. One of us will write about the outcome as soon as we are being informed. As you have mentioned he continues to display his great courage in his fight with CC. We are sending tons of good wishes his way.

Today, I had been told that the tumor must be less than 6 cm for cyberknife to be an option. Carol, did the oncologist give a reason as to why he did not want to support you with a letter to the insurance company.

Gavin….it is always wonderful to read your postings. Your Mum’s shopping and Gym attendance and your Dad’s independence streak surfacing again, make for a lovely story. And, each of your parents feeling better about the other’s physical improvement warms my heart. What a wonderful family you are.

Hello and a warm Welcome. Discussions about high Ammonia levels have taken place many times on this board and there seem to be numerous answers for this. The use of stool softeners rather then laxatives had been suggested once however, until others can respond to you it might be helpful to read up on some of the threads by using the

Barbara……..Your Dad’s diet sounds great in fact; it simply is a healthy way to eat. I believe that when physicians talk about homeopathic treatments they are more concerned about plants or plant derivatives not commonly known in this country which may have unknown side effects therefore, it possibly could lead to misinterpretations of the patient

Mary Anne….Well put by the Hospice nurse…Joe is the boss. I had to remind myself of this while tending to my husband. Also, sleep deprivation seems to go hand in hand with being a caretaker and it certainly happened to me, also. It seemed as if my mind did not want to rest and was working overtime. If it is not possible for you to catch a small nap during the day could you find 15 minutes here or there in order to close your eyes and relax. It is nothing like a good night’s sleep however, it does help to keep the energy going. I am so happy for Hospice to be given relief to Joe and to you. I am thinking of you and am sending tons of hugs.

    Hello Gavin,
Thanks for sharing and no apologies needed, ever. I have heard of others with similar stories about light sensitivity extending far beyond what had been predicted by their physicians. I am happy to hear about your Dad being able to go outdoors without having to cover every inch of his body.
Sounds as if the night sleeping has worked itself out well enough, also. Great news.
By each of your parents confiding in you in order to protect the other demonstrates the wonderful support you are to each your Mum and your Dad. Two loving people have raised a wonderful son. Hopefully, your Mum will allow herself a bit of tending to her own needs as that is of most importance for her wellbeing. It is always nice hearing from you and I am looking forward to your report on the 23rd of December. And you take real good care of yourself, too.
    Hugs
