I had posted this some time ago. Thought it might fit into the present conversation.
There is very little research in re: to CC and I believe, these are some of the reasons:

The problem with cancer is the way it is researched.
In the past it was common for a clinician to come up with a hypothesis in re: to treatment and test it out in the lab. Not anymore. It requires large amounts of capital, which is almost impossible to come by and virtually nonexistent for anyone who has not spent his or her career in laboratory. (Researcher)

I believe that most research is done by the drug companies thus leaving out the researcher or clinician with a great idea but who has now way of funding further investigations. (This includes large medical institutions)

It takes about $1 billion dollars to bring a new drug to the market. The cost is staggering. So you can bet that there is not one pharmaceutical company willing to make this kind of investment without realizing a healthy return. They will try to bring a new drug on the market and have it patented in order to recoup their investment.

There may very well be products out there already in use, not protected by a patent, which could be highly effective to the patient, and for minimal cost, but they have not been tested further since the money for clinical trials and other evolving costs will not justify the return on anyone

Great news, Heather. And, you are so very right as life has changed.
You might also want to check the search function for “nausea” as you might find some helpful tips in combating the side effects of the chemo. Personally, I have found some of the best suggestions being shared on this site.
    Wishing for continued success.

    Varun,
I don’t have any answers in re: to the SUV however, have you and the doctor discussed imaging with a special MRI for which a stent would not present itself to be a problem?
    Wising for the best,

    Lainy,
I remember reading about kidney involvement however, can’t recall the source as to whether it derived from the board or, it may have been discussed at a scientific symposium I had attended.
You might want to try using the search function on top of the page. Enter “kidney” and look for the thread containing any information in re: to it. Generally, you will find a sleugh of information shared by other members of this site.
Yes, Teddy has survived for 2 1/2 years, and we are so grateful for this. It should not stop him from wanting to survive more years, yet and there is a good chance for him to do so with adequate intervention to which he may respond favorably.
    Hugs to Superman.

    Shalla,
So sorry for your Mom having been diagnosed with CC.
When my husband was diagnosed I personally, had encountered similar responses from his immediate family and friends and colleagues that being an expression of disbelieve, shock and denial. Similar to your Mom my husband was also healthy in addition too; he was a tall and strong man. For him to be afflicted with cancer was incomprehensible to most people, including me, at first.
I believe for knowledge to be one of the most powerful tools to use when making decisions and for this cancer this site is a good place to start. You might want to look at

It is wonderful hearing from you. Are you planning on continuing with Dr. Nesselhut’s Dendritic Cell Therapy, or are you considering other forms of treatment? Again, so glad to have you back on the site.

I have known someone being treated by the Burzynski Clinic. He had a brain tumor. Unfortunately, he did succumb to the cancer. This was about 6 or 7 years ago. Don’t know of anyone being treated there for CC.

    Sue,
According to my personal research, PSC demonstrates itself to be a high risk factor for CC. Also, this will become apparent, when perusing postings of other members. Unfortunately, there is as far as I know no early detection for this cancer. It always amazes me to see how many otherwise healthy people (in many instances runners) are afflicted with this cancer.
