    Irene,
We also had experienced frustration and helplessness when encountering this disease, for the very same reasons you are describing, in your post. Communication between all involved physicians can be a problem therefore, we made sure to request a written report from each doctor, for our own records. Prior to every office visit with any physician, we then forwarded this report to his or her office. In order to confirm the receipt of the records, I would then follow it up with a personal phone call. In most instances, my efforts were worth the extra trouble and energy expanded by me. It is tough and time-consuming and frustrating, but as I had experienced personally, when advocating for our loved one, we need to be very pro-active in order to assure that the absolute best care is given to the patient.

Also, you are not rambling at all. This is the right place to rid yourself of your frustration.

    Wishing for the absolute best,
    Marions

    annshal,
glad for you to have recieved some clarification from the physicians. and yes, I have also been told that in particular circumstances a biopsy is not needed for approval with the insurance company.
    Best of luck to you

    dzkh,
welcome and so sorry for you having to find this site.
I believe strongly in gathering second, third, and possibly fourth opinions when being confronted with any disease. Copies of all medical records, Ct scans, reports, etc, are easily obtained and can be forwarded to other physicians for evaluation.
Also, when entering “stent” in the search function on top of the page, you may find some answers for some of the questions you have until others have a chance to answer you.
    Best of luck to you,
    Marions

    Dear Joyce,

Thank you for sharing your feelings. The grieving process has no set time, so all of us; work with it as best we can. Holidays are especially hard, as those are the days we look forward to, and we recall them as being some of the most joyful times, in our lives. I wonder though, whether people around you expect you to be happy, or whether you are self-imposing some of these expectations from others, onto you. This is a difficult time, as it is for many of us; surely people around you will understand just that, and they will give you the space needed, and have an understanding for you.

It is hard moving forward without the ones we loved so dearly, but every day is another day to live, another day to remember, and another day to build memories for those who count on us being in their lives. There is no room for bargaining here, our loved ones left this world and we are still to stay. I believe they wish for us to be happy again and to share the joy of life as they had experienced it, also.

Sometimes, when overcome with grieving, we have a tendency to overshadow the wonderful moments shared with the people we loved so much. It is very difficult to do, but it has worked for me more times then not, by trying to match up a wave of sorrow with a joyful moment of rememberance.

And remember, you are not alone with your feelings as I for one will be thinking of you, and I am sure for there to be plenty of others joining me in wishing for you a peaceful Holiday.

Also, I have watched Caroline Stouffer’s video and it was very comforting and uplifting. Thank you Caroline.

    Hugs
    Marion

    annshal,
My husband had one needle biopsy confirming the CC diagnoses therefore; I am not able to answer any of the other questions. Possibly, someone else on the board will be able to share more information with you in this regard.
As far as I know, at this time, repeated surgery will be highly unlikely in your husband

    annshal,
I can only speak from my own experience and yes, a biopsy has to confirm the CC diagnoses in order to establish a treatment protocol. It is not uncommon for brushings to be either inconclusive, or negative in its findings. As it happened in our case, CC tissue was retrieved and confirmed to be positive at a later stage, but certainly before treatment for CC was implemented. This did not involve surgery but rather; it was done through needle biopsy.

I am hoping for your husband to recuperate real soon.

    Dear Richard,

This is what I believe: Palliative care encompasses alot of territory. Choosing the direction is a very personal issue; demanding some thorough thoughts and the evaluation of acquired information.

We are fortunate, in this country, to have Hospice care available to us. A phone conversation with the organization will put your mind at ease, as they are trained to deal with palliative care patients and their families and all possible questions arising in a situation, such as yours. Also, remember, not infrequently has Hospice released patients from their care when at times, there was an improvement in the patient

    Celoi,
I don’t have any knowledge in re: to the CAAT diet however, Amino Acids were discussed in my interview with Dr. Gorter. His recommendations are noted mainly for the specific purpose of counteracting adverse reactions caused by the administration of chemotherapy.

    Charlene,
you might also want to use the “Search” function. Just enter Radio Frequency Ablation. I believe there to be a link posted by Ron some time ago.

    pmgdlight,
Welcome, and so sorry for you having to find this site.
When we encountered this cancer, just as you have, we had many questions for which we found no answers. This is a great place to start in order to understand more and to find support with this disease. Please, put out your questions or comments in the Experience section of this forum. There are many wonderful people ready to share with you and pass on what they have learned, so far.
Also, on top of the bar, under “Search” you can enter key-words such as: resection, etc. It will lead you to prior dicussions.
If you have problems navigating the site please, feel free to ask.
    Good Luck
    Marions
