    Dear Sally,

I am praying the doctors come up with a plan that will help your dear sister.
If that means getting another opinion, then keep trying until you find a doctor that is able to help her. All the best to you and your sis.

    Dear Sue,

I don’t think you were being weak. I just think you are scared. Scared of the unknown. Scared to be the strong one. Scared to be alone. I would feel exactly the same if I were in your shoes. You are strong and can handle things. We are all here to help you along. If you fall, we will pick you up. Your post today sounds way more positive. Way to go girl. I knew you had it in you!
    Prayers to you and Darrell.

    Sue,

I am sorry to hear that Darrell has more tumors. It is a good thing that the doctor thinks chemo will help. I think you should look to the future instead of dwelling on could’ve and should’ve. The past is gone. Look to the future and think positive thoughts. We are all here for you. Dig deep and find your inner strength for yourself and Darrell. I never would’ve believed I could handle my daughter having cancer, but I made up my mind to never give up hope and make her life as wonderful as I can. I want you to try and do the same. We’re in this together, Sue. Take care my friend.

    Dear Maria,

I am sorry to hear about the passing of your dear Mum. I don’t look at it that she was in denial about facing death. I look at it that she never gave up hope. That is the one thing everyone suffering from this disease has-Hope. I hope you don’t mind me saying this. I don’t look at it as you supporting her denial. I think you were trying not to diminish her hopes to survive this terrible disease.

I am sorry that she was so scared before she passed. How comforted she must have felt with you there to hold her. I cannot imagine having to go through that. Take comfort in knowing you made her last moments peaceful and full of love. Take care Maria. I hope your pain eases soon.

    Dear pak,

I don’t know anything about this treatment but I see you are from Cleveland. I am about an hour away from there. Where is your Mother being treated? I wish her all the best.

    Dear Sue,

I will pray very hard that your husband’s tumors are shrinking. It seems as though you have had to wait forever. I know how hard it is to wait for results. Like a sick feeling in your stomach every time you think about it. Please let us know the results. Hoping for the best.

    Tiffany,

I was all concerned about that test too. I think a lot of people on this site freak out about it a lot, thus causing me to freak out about it. I ask about it every time we see Lauren;s ONC because it is never on the print out. It must take longer and they don’t have the results when all the other tests come in. The doctor said it is not really anything to freak out about. It is one of many tools used together. They gave me Lauren’s numbers when I asked. They were going up and now have started down. Scans are the best way to tell how you are doing. They told me to put that test out of my head and quit worrying about it. They are happy with her progress. I would suggest you not put so much pressure on yourself about these numbers. Try and focus on shrinking your tumors and staying well.

    He Tiffany,

I am glad your chemo went fairly well. Sorry about your shortness of breath. I hope you can figure out what is causing it. I think it is great your CA19-9 number is going down. Lauren’s have been all over the place but this last time hers was going down too. Her doctor didn’t seem to worry about those numbers as long as her MRI showed tumor shrinkage. Best of luck to you.

    Hi Richard,

Welcome to our family. Nobody really wants to belong to this family but we are all here to offer support to you. My daughter Lauren, age 25 suffers from this disease as well. I am sorry you were not able to have surgery. Perhaps this new chemo cocktail will do the trick. My daughter is on Gem/Cis and 5-FU and is doing fairly well. Could you tell us a little more about yourself like age and family. I wish you all the best and I hope you come back and visit often. Take care.

I did not know where to turn for support when my 25 year old daughter was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma. I had never heard of this type of cancer and then read how rare it is on the internet. When I first found this site, I could only take it a little at a time. This cancer is so devastating and it seems like I was reading about someone dying every day. I slowly came around and found that there are some success stories as well as some of the most brave people I have ever known. This site helps me so much now. I can offer support, advice, and comfort to someone who is in my shoes. I also receive more support than I ever could imagine. It feels like I have a large extended family that knows exactly what I am going through. I feel so much gratitude and love for all the patients, caregivers, and loved ones that have been touched by this horrible disease. They will all be in my heart forever.
