First of all, It’s incredible for your mom, and she is a survivor for having this condition so long. Perhaps it gives hope to others. Did she undergo surgery or chemo/radiation?
The will has to be in the individual to not give up and continue. What did she do all these years to make this as a chronic condition and not a cancer?
Can you encourage anything she enjoys in life? Can she drink healthy juices or small amounts throughout the day?

Have you tried natural remedies? If she can tolerate the taste, try chewing fresh ginger after a meal, swallow juice, then spit out ginger. If not, try ginger tea. How about fresh peppermint tea to soothe the stomach? Inhale essential oils, such as peppermint oil or lavender.

I’m glad to hear that you are making changes to her nutrition and complementary care. Beta glucans are supposed to shrink tumors and prevent spreading. I don’t know the exact dosage or effect, but if the body doesn’t react in a negative way it’s worth a try. I have my mom take one a day, afraid to increase the dosage, and it’s good for now. Vitamin C is perfect to keep her immunity up, this is crucial to whether you are undergoing chemo or not. Keep going!!!

    Tiah,
Have you considered a break from chemo to have the body recover? Give your mom nutritious foods and fresh green juice daily, perhaps a shot of wheatgrass. Also, citrus fruits to boost her immunity. These are my recommendations, but you have to share with medical staff. Do you give any vitamin/mineral supplements? Her immunity is probably very low and needs to be built up. I don’t want to give too many specific recommendations, but general as each individuals taste and response is different. Research ways to boost immunity naturally. I understand this is tough, but take charge outside of what is possible with medical treatment.

Thank you for sharing Jdow. Never settle for a doctor who will not work with you, listen, or is difficult. I had to rule out a couple of doctors for similar reasons. If I don’t feel comfortable with their behavior or recommendations, I don’t want my mom getting treatment from them, or even a routine checkup.

Thanks for this article. I came to this conclusion that inflammation was the culprit. My mom’s body was in a high inflammatory state and hopefully some reduction when we get our next lab report. I had to change her nutrition (which could be a challenge) to reduce the inflammation.

Frankincense is supposed to be good for moods if put in a diffuser. I was considering it for ingestion, but decided not to use it. I would have to do more research. Essential oils can be used to relax or uplift someone’s mood, so search for ones that may help your mom and you can get her a diffuser.

I looked into a few of the above and selected a few different ones to benefit my mom. I don’t want to push a specific dietary supplement protocol as each individual is different. Go according to anything deficient in their body. I can suggest one which is building her immunity which was not well several months ago, and this is without chemo! She would have mushroom extract twice a day. Again, this is in addition to several changes we made.
Thanks everyone for trying hard to find alternative healing methods also, not only relying on chemo. Again, that is a personal choice and no one should be forced to get it or not.

That’s great the treatment is working for you. Everyone is different on how they respond. I don’t know how many times I heard “It’s in a bad location” “Awful Tumor” “Poor prognosis”, until I had enough and decided to help my mom the best I can and not listen to every word of any doctor. So it is, what it is and I got tired of negativity. Keep your spirits high, listen to your body, and do the best for yourself.

You can have a green drink or carrot juice daily. Wheatgrass is supposed to be good for anemia or low platelets. Also, warm lemon water daily or other eat citrus fruits with high Vitamin C.

Whether you choose chemo or not, and whether it works or not, make sure she is getting good nutrition, dietary supplements, fresh air and sunshine, daily walks, comfortable sleep, and doing things she enjoys. This may sound basic, but still very important.
