Susie, if you don’t like smoking it there is a synthetic option in pill form called Marinol, see:

tiapattyMemberThis is great news, tell Lauren to keep dreamin’!

tiapattyMemberWow, Captain, thanks for posting, you made me smile–that is one unique way of showing cancer who is wearing the pants! I think the best thing about them is that they make people ask questions, they will not be ignored, and then people learn about cc. Oh, and they make you look stylin’!

tiapattyMemberGrover,
Welcome, you are among an audience that appreciates humor, you might call us connoisseurs. Humor is the best kind of medicine–it’s free and has no side effects. Keep us updated.

tiapattyMemberNancy T,
Take a look at the Chemo forum, there are plenty of posts about all kinds of chemo combos:

tiapattyMemberHi Patty,
Some people have posted about diet and supplements, just look under the Nutrition or Alternative Therapy forums. Andy’s regimen is quite comprehensive, see:
http://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=4557
I posted a while ago about black raspberries and esophageal and colorectal cancer and since cc is in the digestive tract it might not hurt to add that in, see:

From one Patty to another, I hope this is helpful.

February 8, 2011 at 4:40 am in reply to: New To Site- Is Anyone Treating CC With Alternative Therapies? #47301tiapattyMemberI posted elsewhere that I had heard anecdotally of someone who took apricot seeds and is considered cancer-free. I am reading a book right now on this topic:
Title: The death of cancer
Author: Manner, Harold W.What disturbs me the most is that I think the research into this therapy had some promise but has been all but abandoned. It was abandoned because of toxicity but chemo is also toxic. More research might lead to isolating something that might work. I also think that patients who don’t have a whole lot to lose by trying something should be given more options.

tiapattyMemberNorma,
I am sorry you have lost your father, he sounds like a brave man and it is good he taught you not to fear death. Que en paz descanse.

tiapattyMemberI am so sorry your husband is worsening, it is very sad to hear of such young people suffering from this disease. This cancer has a way of pulling the rug out from under you and you begin to doubt everything you once thought was certain, it unsteadies and disorients you. Fear and anxiety are very hard to control, I find comfort and strength from words–quotations and poetry–here are some I hope can help:
Do not be afraid of tomorrow; for God is already there. ~Author Unknown
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. ~Eleanor Roosevelt
The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next. ~Mignon McLaughlin
