He emailed me Pam. I’m going to mail my next set of scans to him. I will get it next month at MDA.

    I have stage 4 intra…
My main symptom was weight loss, and just not wanting to eat.
The pain I had that sent me to the ER was under my left breast, kinda in my chest, but I could tell it wasn’t a lung. The pain in now gone.

    Welcome to the site Dr!

I’m always looking for more opinions on my cancer. Are you willing to look at my scans if I mail them? We live in Alabama, but will travel to any doctor that will give me hope. Right now I’m being seen by Dr. Javle at MD Anderson. :)

My body surface area is 1.77. I wonder if I need to ask about my gemzar dosage?

Thanks Lainy. I feel good about this new treatment.
I’m feeling ok today, and about to take my Xeloda.

Good news!! Who is his Dr @ MDA? We see Javle.

The gem/cis was easy for me. I have had 10 rounds. I’m having to stop the cis, but will keep getting gem. ;) The biggest problem for me was the fatigue, but that might come from having a 6 and 3 year old! haha

I had 10 rounds of gemzar and cisplatin. I went every 14 days. I started having allergic reactions to the cisplatin, so now I will be doing gemzar and xeloda. I believe Dr. Javle from MD Anderson puts most of his people on every 14 days…
I will say I didn’t have many side effects, other than fatigue and some stomach problems.

Is this talking about the melatonin I take to help me sleep? I’m confused by this. LOL Is melatonin good or bad?

Thanks yall. Kris– day by day please! LOL you can tell me about it on fb. ;) I hope the insurance doesn’t give me any problems. The most I have to pay for any drug is $40. When they didn’t want to pay for my Traceva, my local cancer center gave it to me for free! They have people donate unused meds, it is $5k a month.
I wonder why some doctors use Xeloda and some do the 5FU?

I emailed him today, and told him whats going on. He said that he is going to call and talk to my local doctor. I know CA19-9 isn’t a total sign it isn’t working as well, but I just have a feeling.
Our next appt at MDA is in MAy, but it may be sooner if I find out it isn’t working.
