SpectatorClarem,
I am so sorry to hear that your sister is still struggling to get through the infection/abscess. That’s a serious complication from that portal vein embo. It must break all if your hearts that she can’t care for her tiny daughter. Thank goodness she is home now and hopefully in a more comfortable place than the hospital. Also wonderful that she has so much support from family and friends. I’m sure you could use support as well to get through so many unexpected turns. I pray your sister recovers from the infections and regains strength to move on to chemo if that is her goal.
Sincerely, Willowwillow
SpectatorThinking of you and your husband. Hang in there as you await the rest if the results. You have lots of support here.

SpectatorYes, I do understand. Especially the part about constantly trying to stay positive even when things are really rough, scary or disappointing . I do it (redirect my attitude ) on a daily basis.

SpectatorDarla, this is FABULOUS news! So happy for you! I also would suggest checking out Livestrong foundation (btw they no longer have Lance in their organization). I heard a long interview with someone from the foundation on NPR last weekend .
Best wishes while you prepare for surgery!

SpectatorYes, I like about you that you are honest, thoughtful, factual and organized. I understand and respect your feelings and opinions and that you are a realist. I, like most, swing between being practical in facing CC and being really really hopeful for those affected to enjoy many quality years. Those that have done so really help fuel this hope. Meanwhile, I encourage everyone with this to live life to the fullest and sometimes that means using distraction. I imagine and hope that your expecting recurrence as part of the chronic nature of this helps ease the shock when if and when it happens. My thoughts are with you Percy.

SpectatorI can’t answer stent questions but just want to offer a hello. Sorry you’re having trouble. Did you read the post about the person doing photodynamic therapy? He (she?) said it made a big difference with drainage issues. Anyway, best to you as you search for a solution to get rid of the jaundice .
