Robert “Bob” Wesley McElroy, age 61, went to his forever home in heaven on April 14, 2021, after a courageous 8 month battle with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer. He was born on July 31, 1959 to Wesley and Carol (Grant) McElroy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was given his middle name after his father. He graduated from Plum High School in 1977 and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science, Business Management degree in 1981l.
Bob had an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ and loved his family more than anything. He was an inspiration to many during his battle with cancer and sought to bring as many people as he could to the Lord through his testimony.
Bob loved traveling with his loving wife, Diane, and babysitting their 5 grandchildren. He loved to play golf, ride his bike, and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and would brag about how many Superbowl wins he saw. He had many leadership roles at Medina United Methodist Church, and greatly enjoyed coaching his daughter’s sports teams. Bob had a successful career in Sales & Marketing at Sherwin Williams for 35 years.
Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diane (Dutzman) McElroy; daughters, Elizabeth (Adam) King, Emily (Kenneth) Baca, Molly (Joshua) Lester; grandchildren, Madelyn, Lucy, K.J., Emilia, and Daniel, who dearly loved their “Pap Pap”; parents, Wesley and Carol McElroy, mother-in-law, Sally Dutzman; brothers, Tim (Sue) McElroy, Daniel (Paula) McElroy, brother-in-law, Dennis Dutzman, nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dennis Dutzman, and brother-in-law, Richard Dutzman.
