Peter J. Mahr
From his 3rd Half Ironman just 4 years ago to living his best life on the waters of Tampa Bay, Peter finished this race on October 6, 2019. For just over a year he battled a very rare bile duct cancer, Cholangiocarcinoma, in Peter Mahr style. Always a do-er, not just a talker, he lived to change things up (new house, new job, new boat, road trip). There was always something that needed a paint job, a shine, a broom, some windex,….constantly moving forward. He was a Great Adventurer, 26 1/2 years a loving husband to Julie, endless coaching and love for his amazing son and daughter, Drew and Anna, supportive brother, and cherished friend.
Peter was born in Valley Stream, NY, on November 28, 1962, but made memories and collected friends from all over the world after living in TX, CA, NC, VA, GA and FL, and traveling extensively.
The Chloangiocarcinoma Foundation is committed to research and support of families dealing with this rare cancer which, sadly, has few early symptoms and is usually not detected until it is very advanced. Please consider making a contribution to this important initiative in Peter’s memory. The Mahr family and their friends thank you for honoring Peter’s memory by accelerating research for this devastating disease.
