Rick Stone

Rick Stone, age 65, of Suwanee, GA passed away peacefully on October 9, 2020, following a hard-fought battle with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (diagnosis October 2019).

Rick grew up in Melbourne Beach, FL, and Rutherford County, NC. He graduated from North Carolina State University with degrees in Computer Science and Chemistry. His career as a Software Engineer spanned from creative startup companies to Fortune 500 corporations. He retired in 2017.

In his free time and after retiring, Rick enjoyed spending time traveling with his family, being outdoors, camping, and taking photos of nature and wildlife. He also appreciated a good whiskey or an IPA beer, the occasional cigar, and playing darts with friends. Rick was very handy and could often be found working on small projects around the house and helping friends and neighbors. Rick loved a good fire, inside and outdoors, and would keep a large woodpile ready to go for the cool weather seasons.

Rick will be dearly missed by family and friends. We are grateful to honor Rick's memory through funding the efforts of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation
