Zulu Race for a Cure
Zulu Race for a Cure
Jeff (aka “Zulu”…college nickname, long story!) was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) in June 2008 and defied the odds by surviving for nearly 27 months. We knew from the very beginning that his cancer was terminal. With the most inspiring attitude and humor, he fought every single day to be here with me and our three beautiful, crazy kids – Gracie, Grant and Bradley. This September 17th marks 5 years since Jeff passed away. This is a rare cancer which receives precious little research funding. By supporting the Cholangiocarinoma Foundation, we are not only helping patients with the disease, but directly funding research that will help develop treatments specific to this cancer and to one day find a cure!
As Jeff was an avid runner, the kids and I decided to honor his memory (and his birthday!) by holding the 1st Annual Zulu Race for a Cure! The fun run will be held at 8am on Saturday, October 31 at the Redfield Pool. It will be a 1.2 mile race through Redfield I, starting and finishing at the pool. Your donation, no matter the amount, is your registration fee! Costumes are welcome – it is Halloween!!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
The kids and I cannot thank you enough for your love and support. 5 years is a big milestone, especially in the eyes of the kids. Thank you for helping us have this opportunity to make a real difference for those affected by this rotten disease. And please feel free to share this site with others who may wish to make a donation – no running required!
Loads of love,
Coleen, Gracie, Grant & Bradley
