4th Annual Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation Poster Abstract Awards

The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation announced the 2024 Poster Abstract Awards at its annual conference that took place virtually and in person in Salt Lake City April 17-19.

The Foundation had 56 abstracts submitted, and three were selected for oral poster presentations. The Abstract Review Committee reviewed all posters and selected three for recognition awards:

The 1st Special Abstract Prize was awarded to Caitlin VanLith, a Mayo Clinic MD-Ph.D. student, for her abstract titled “Genetic Susceptibility to Cholangiocarcinoma.”

The 2nd Special Abstract Prize is awarded to Younghun Han, PhD, Baylor College of Medicine, for his abstract titled “Multimodal Single Cell Analysis of Cholangiocarcinoma Subtypes Reveals Distinct Immune Microenvironments.”

The 3rd Special Abstract Prize poster is awarded to Matt Cooley, MS, a Mayo Clinic Ph.D. student in the School of Biomedical Sciences, for his abstract titled “Liquid Biopsy Based DNA Methylation for the Diagnosis of PancreatoBiliary Malignancies; M. Cooley, V. Chandrasekhara.”

“Drs. VanLith, Han, and Cooley have demonstrated a commitment to the cholangiocarcinoma community. We are grateful to them for their dedication to studying this difficult-to-treat disease. It is my honor to present the 2024 Poster Awards to these outstanding individuals,” said Stacie Lindsey, Foundation CEO and Founder.

The Foundation is the leading global resource for cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer of the bile ducts. The annual conference remains a premier source for presenting new and relevant research, innovative therapies, and patient education in cholangiocarcinoma.

More than 1,000 people are expected to participate in the 2024 annual conference, including patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, industry representatives, and sponsors worldwide.

The Foundation offers an opportunity for professionals in industry and medical fields consistent with the organization’s mission “to find a cure and improve the quality of life for cholangiocarcinoma patients” to present a poster each year at the conference. Posters are intended to allow authors and conference participants to connect with one another and build upon the foundation of knowledge exchange and collaboration.

Drs. VanLith, Han, and Cooley have demonstrated a commitment to the cholangiocarcinoma community. We are grateful to them for their dedication to studying this difficult-to-treat disease. It is my honor to present the 2024 Poster Awards to these outstanding individuals.
